Crowned Jewels for Doodles Paper Playground

Greetings! I have some exciting news to share! I am one of the February Guest Designers for Doodles Paper Playground, and I am so excited about it. If you've never heard of them, and you love sparkly things like me, you are in for a real treat! They hand mix the most beautiful blends of sequins, microbeads, and other teeny tiny goodies into what they call Sparkle Blends. I am telling you, they are so amazing, I could eat them. Ok, please don't do that. I promise I won't either. ;) But they are luscious!

I will be sharing at least one project with each of the newly released Sparkle Blends this month. There are 5 altogether, and I know you will love them. For this card, I decided to work with Crowned Jewels, which is filled with bold colored sequins, teeny microbeads, faceted teeny gems, itty bitty stars and more. This combination screams party to me, and the colors are so dynamic. Here's a closer look at the mix.

I tell ya, it's those teeny little faceted gems that really got me. You can see a bunch in my first photo.

I used Lawn Fawn's Party Animal and Forest Feast Stamp sets to create my little scene. I stamped them on Recollections 110 lb. cardstock with Imagine's VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. I stamped the balloon 3 times, knowing that that was where I wanted my shakers to be, and I drew the strings in myself. I colored the stamped images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The confetti is from the Stampendous Confetti Metal Stencil, and I simply colored the pieces I wanted with my Zigs.

Each balloon is separated by 2 layers of foam tape, as I didn't want any of the pretty Sparkle Blends to be hidden behind the card. I also attached a few regular sized sequins to the outside of the card with Imagine's On Point Glue.

So what do you think of the Crowned Jewels? How would you like to see more Sparkle Blends? You can only get them White Rose Crafts and I have an exclusive discount code for you!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Deco Art and Andy Skinner Hop

This is a very exciting week for the Stampendous team! We are hanging out with the ultra cool Deco Art Mixed Media team, each using each other's products to share some incredible creations with you. These companies go hand in hand, so using each other's products is easy. And the results are amazing. We are of course featuring Andy Skinner's stamps, who is the DecoArt International Education Coordinator.  And yup, there are prizes! But I want you to go to the Stampendous Blog for all of that info. The link is at the bottom of the post. Now, on to my project. I made a cool wall hanging today. I started off with a piece of MDF and I drilled 2 holes, and covered it with DecoArt's white Gesso. After it dried, I used Andy's Alcohol and Media fluid Acrylics Layering Technique. You can check out his how-to video HERE . Needless to say, it's a great technique, and I loved doing it. Once I finished with the aforementioned technique, I sealed the piece w
