Hello! I have finally had a chance to play along with the new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. This is a challenge blog that is all about sharing a love of Lawn Fawn products. And boy do I LOVE Lawn Fawn! I have wanted to play since the very first challenge, I even started a couple of projects, but I never had a chance to post them. But today is a new day! The theme for their 8th challenge is Summertime Fun. I was lucky a couple of weeks ago and I won a fantabulous prize pack from a flamingo-themed hop on Instagram. In the pack was the Flamingo Together stamp set that I have wanted for quite a while. So that's what I used on my card today. I was thinking about Summertime romances, and bold, bright skies.

I was really inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's latest videos, which is where I came up with the basic concept for this card. I sprayed an acrylic block with Imagine's Fireworks! Sprays in Rose Bud, Dandelion, and Bahama Blue. I placed the wet block on to a piece of Smooth Bristol paper from Canson and let it sit for a while.
You can see in the photo above the fantastic shimmer that the Fireworks! Sprays have. Then I stamped the images with VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black. I thought embossing the images would really make them pop, so I used Stampendous Detail Black Embossing Powder. I decided my background needed a little something more, so I shook up my Fireworks! again, unscrewed the cap, and used the straw to apply drops of color. Then I created my card base with Banana Pepper cardstock from My Colors.
There you have it. I really enjoyed using my acrylic block to apply color to the background. What a fun and simple technique that will come out differently every time. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
