May 2014 Hump Day Hop: A Cut Above!

Greetings! It's time for the May 2014 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I chose was "A Cut Above." I wanted everyone to use lots of die cuts. To use the Sizzix, Silhouette, or any other type of die cutting tools you may have. So here's the card that I made.

The Bombshell Stamps that I used for my card was Vintage Raceway (you can get it in digi and rubber form!) and King of the Road (for my sentiment).

I colored the car with alcohol markers, in colors reminiscent of Plum Crazy, one of my favorite colors that hot rods like these sometimes came in.

My fabulous dies is a complete set from Dreamweaver Stencils. They are called Nesting Frames. Now, go get hopping! Below is the full hop list. Thanks for stopping by Have an inspiring day!

Wow. This is awesome. I would love a car in that color. Specifically, I'd love a Turbo PT Cruiser in that shade of purple.

I love how it appears as though the car is bursting from the card!

This is an awesome masculine (or femenine too) card! I struggle with those.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new "Blossom Beauty" face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar. I am beyond excited to share my project with you. I made an art journal page, with a....rather altered...version of the fantastic Blossom Beauty image. Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
