May 2014 Hump Day Hop: A Cut Above!

Greetings! It's time for the May 2014 Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme I chose was "A Cut Above." I wanted everyone to use lots of die cuts. To use the Sizzix, Silhouette, or any other type of die cutting tools you may have. So here's the card that I made. The Bombshell Stamps that I used for my card was Vintage Raceway (you can get it in digi and rubber form!) and King of the Road (for my sentiment).  I colored the car with alcohol markers, in colors reminiscent of Plum Crazy, one of my favorite colors that hot rods like these sometimes came in.  My fabulous dies is a complete set from Dreamweaver Stencils . They are called Nesting Frames . Now, go get hopping! Below is the full hop list. Thanks for stopping by Have an inspiring day! Bombshell Blog Alison Suzi Kim Angie Marnie Valerie Kelli Kathi

Bombshell Stamps March Hump Day Hop: Stencil it In!

Hello Bloggy friends! Since it's the last Wednesday of the month, it's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme that I chose was "Stencil it In." I challenged the participants to either use a pre-made stencil, or to create some of their own! Here's my card. I used 2 images from King of the Road , and the flag from Speed Shop . I was really excited to make this card. Check out that fabby Houndstooth stencil I used! It's from Dreamweaver Stencils . And I have some fun news about them....I am going to be a Guest Designer with them next month! I colored my hot rod with Metallic F/X (also from Dreamweavers) and watercolor markers. You can't tell here, but the car has an awesome glimmer because of the Metallic F/X. You can see it much better here. It's also tough to tell, but pretty much everything is pink. They are soft shades of pink, and I think it looks cool. Here you can really see the dimension of all of my elem...

Bombshell Muse Monday and Raise the Bar

Greetings! It's Monday, which makes me sad...as I really wish my boys were home with Rhiannon and I. But, girl time is always a good thing too! Today I have 2 projects to share with you. The first is Bombshell Stamps' Muse Monday project. The second is for Raise the Bar , which Rick St. Dennis is sponsoring. As a new member of his EDT, I really wanted to play along. So let's start with Muse Monday. Each month, I choose a Bombshell Stamps set that I want the Design Team to feature. Each Monday, different DT members share a project making that set. It's really cool to see so many different ways to use one set! This month, I chose King of the Road . I asked Gene what colors I should use for this hot rod. What do you think of his choices? I liked them. I used watercolor markers to color in the images, and I watercolor painted the background. Remember, each Monday the  Bombshell Gals will be showing different projects with this cool set. As I mentioned above, R...

September 2012 Bombshell Sketch Challenge

Hello! It's time for a new Sketch Challenge from Bombshell Stamps. I really liked this one. It had a lot of layers. I could see using many, many sets for this sketch, but I chose to work with 2. I simplified it a bit, but I do like the original a lot. Here's the sketch. I flipped the sketch on it's side, and changed the positioning of the sentiment. I like having these hot rods together. It reminds me of the car shows I frequent. I colored them up with my usual mix of watercolor markers and Copics. I was a little worried about picking our coordinating papers, but I think I found some rally good ones! And as per usual, my purples didn't photograph properly. Man, that makes me crazy! They look so blue in the pictures. Now I am in the mood to go to a car show! So what do you think of the latest sketch? Why not play along? If you do, you have the chance at winning a set of Bombshells for yourself! Head on over to the Bombshell Blog for all th...
