Green: Coloring with It & Feeling It

Ever have one of those weeks? Those weeks that can be written off a s a complete bust? That's how my week has been. I have the flu. And it sucks. I was so ahead with what I needed to do for my projects, and now I am miserably behind. And I still feel terrible. Thankfully, I had my project for this week's Dilly Beans challenge all set to go well before I got kicked in the ass with this horrid sickness. Allow me to share with you....."Green," our challenge for the week.

This is Nutmeg. And I think she's awesome. I actually had some extra moments, and my hands were feeling pretty good, so I broke out my beloved colored pencils. It's been forever since I've worked with them.

I am totally digging her hair. Oh. And I would like to point out, then when you visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog today, you will see the card I blogged about last week. Like a dummy, I switched what I posted....both cards worked for both challenges. And I inadvertently switched them. I can't even blame that on the flu! Wanna see the other card? Visit THIS post.

Would you like to play along? Perhaps win some fabulous Dilly Beans images of your own? Then please visit the Challenge Blog. And please leave some love for the rest of the DT. They made some fabulous green creations this week. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

"Dream-Pendous" Collaboration!

Greetings! This is going to be such an exciting week for Dreamweaver Stencil s fans and Stampendous Stamps fans alike. It's going to be a "Dream-Pendous" week of inspiration! The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new "Blossom Beauty" face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar. I am beyond excited to share my project with you. I made an art journal page, with a....rather altered...version of the fantastic Blossom Beauty image. Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
