Day 15 of 31 Days and DICC #40

It's the 15th f the month, so I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge, plus a new Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween project. Let's start with the new DICC Challenge. The itinerary was created by Katie Tate. It features things with the letter "P."
1. Paper Piecing
2. Pop Something Up
3. Scrapbook page instead of card
4. CASE something from Pinterest
5. Party
6. Punches
7. Pink
8. Pearls
9. Purple
10.Photo

I made an ATC. I used numbers 5, 6, 7, and 9 from the itinerary. I chose to do an ATC, because I wanted to have an entry in this week's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. They are celebrating their 1st Birthday! This cheery cake and balloons is from Delicious Doodles, via Stitchy Bear, who is our sponsor for the next two weeks.

I colored the image with my watercolor markers. I don't make too many ATC's, and I rreally enjoyed doing this one. Happy Birthday, Wicked Wednesday!!!

And now my latest 31 Days project. This beautiful image is from Dilly Beans. Her name is Lila. I thought it would be interesting to do a Sugar Skull in black, white and grays, instead of the typical brightly colored Sugar Skulls.

I colored Lila entirely with Copics. And I'll be honest, it was totally weird to not use any color on her. But I really like how it turned out in the end. I am entering this card into the Poisoned Peas Please Challenge for the month, which happens to be Sugar Skulls. Also, this week's Smudgy Antics challenge is also Sugar Skulls, so I am entering my Lila card in that as well.

The fabulous sentiment I used is also from Dilly Beans. What a great quote from Salvador Dali. I should put this on a shirt or something....make it my new mantra. Hahaha!
Halfway through the 31 Days...I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am! Now it's time for you to hop along to the rest of the 31 Day'ers. They are all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Wow! Your black, white and grey piece is wow!! I almost always love monochrome but who would have guessed how effective it could be on Dilly Beans! I might get the sentiment on a Tshirt too - love it!!

Gorgeous cards! Of course I am partial to the dilly beans' card the most. It looks cool in black and white and I'm loving the torn papers and the different patterned papers. Great job!

Wicked cool, I'm a huge fan of black and white projects!
Wow - talk about two totally different looking projects. The birthday card is cute. But I must say, I'm loving that atc. I'm thinking we may need to set up a BS atc trade.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
