Custom Wedding Album

I am making a Custom Wedding Scrapbook as a gift for the happy couple. I used their beautiful invitation as inspiration for the entire book, which is 8x8.

Karen-Wedding-1I blurred some of the info out, which is why the invitation itself looks a little weird. If you click on this or any other photo, you can view it in a larger size.

I just love the simple botanicals and the subtle damask print in the background. You can see here that I added some Dew Drops with some Stickles for a touch of sparkle.

Because of the lovely damask, I decided to go with this print (from DCWV) on some of the pages. It works perfectly with the invitations. And I think the brown (taken from the invitation as well), makes the pages look rich.

Titles, especially on such a small scale can be really time consuming for me. So I was happy to find some great stickers from K & Co. that can be used throughout the album. Here are one of those stickers, which are layered beautifully, and have a bit of glitter on them. To enhance that sparkle, I used more Stickles on the background paper, to define the swirls a bit. I also added some pearls, inspired by the itty bitty ones on the sticker. The white cardstock (which will become a mat when a photo is added), has a hint of sparkle as well. You can see it better in the next photo.

Karen-Wedding-4

You can see it just a bit in the bottom of the photo. Ignore the peach color…that’s just the color I photographed the pages on.

I just love making custom albums. They are the perfect gift for yourself, your family, or anyone really! I am hoping that I will get a couple more album orders in before the Holidays. If you are interested, please leave me a comment with your email address and I will get in touch with you. Have an inspiring day!

That looks great. I wish I could get back to scrap booking. I would rather make cards.

Lovely album! I really should scrapbook again. I told myself I would do one layout per week but I've not kept the promise to myself.

Congrats on the Bombshell DT!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
