StampInsanity Challenge # 17 Water, Water, Everywhere

We are keeping that Summer feeling goin’ over at StampInsanity! This week we are continuing on with our little celebration of summer ~ letting our mind be inspired by WATER! Do you immediately think of a pool, with the cool aqua & white tones? Or the tropical turquoise and white sand beaches? Or are you a Northern girl and think about the sea foam green seas and the darker sand of the rocky shores? Tell us about it and let your Grooviness carry you away! Here’s my card.

Water-Everywhere-1

I just love this Henry image, so I had to use him again! I colored him in with my colored pencils. For my sentiment, I tore up the edges (haha…rip it! Get it? Yeah, I know, it was bad!), and inked the whole piece. But then, the white behind Henry stood out too much. So, I took a deep breath and inked right on top of Henry! Ya gotta take risks in art! Otherwise, you’ll never grow! And I think it came out perfect! Here’s a close up.

Water-Everywhere-2

You can click on any of the images to see them bigger. See? The inking just makes everything blend together. It’s subtle, but was so necessary! I also inked the heck out of my card. And my paper had plenty of mottling in it because it’s from Basic Grey. You know how they roll!

Water-Everywhere-3

I also added a single matte rhinestone just for a bit of zip. You can see it in the first photo. Now it’s time for you to visit the rest of the Groovy Gurlz! After that, why not play along and make your own water lovin’ creation? There are some digis up for grabs!!!

Mediterranean Dreams Shaker

Hello! Today I have a card that features the Mediterranean Dreams Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts.  This fabulous Subscription Kit brings together sparkling, azure Mediterranean seas, sun-bleached shores and the rich colors of vibrant Mediterranean cultures in a carefully curated kit. I knew I just had to try the Jillibean Soup shaker card and I chose to use one of the stamps (from Kaisercraft) to make my background. I stamped the seashell with Tea Dye Distress Oxide all over the background of the card. Then I applied some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to my craft mat, spritzed it with some water, and splattered it on to my card base. Last, I inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Mini Blending Brush. For my sentiment, I die cut a stitched rectangle from my stash, out of the pearly yellow cardstock that came in the kit and stamped it with "Wish You Were Here" stamp from the same "Summer Splash" stamp set, with StazOn Pigment ink. Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento. I also received the super pretty Heart Doily Designer Die  which I used with a true purple cardstock. But it needed something....and in rolls the super fabul...
