StampInsanity Challenge #19

It’s time for a sketch challenge with the Groovy Gurlz of StampInsanity ! But instead of a card…I made a tag! I used the oh-so-handsome Roder as my subject this week. He’s just so rockin’! And of course, I broke out my colored pencils! I also used my Coluzzle for the circles and rectangle. I know! I just love using my older tools! I hate letting them just sit in a drawer unused. And how about that yarn??? Isn’t it fabulous? I’ll never learn how to knit a sweater, but I will always find something to do with all of those wonderful skeins of yarn that I have! Now go and check out what the rest of the Groovy Gurlz are up to this week! Jacquie Lisa Juanita Jennifer Margie Suzi Erica Guest Groovy Gurls: Shelley Margreet

StampInsanity Challenge # 17 Water, Water, Everywhere

We are keeping that Summer feeling goin’ over at StampInsanity ! This week we are continuing on with our little celebration of summer ~ letting our mind be inspired by WATER! Do you immediately think of a pool, with the cool aqua & white tones? Or the tropical turquoise and white sand beaches? Or are you a Northern girl and think about the sea foam green seas and the darker sand of the rocky shores? Tell us about it and let your Grooviness carry you away! Here’s my card. I just love this Henry image, so I had to use him again! I colored him in with my colored pencils. For my sentiment, I tore up the edges (haha…rip it! Get it? Yeah, I know, it was bad!), and inked the whole piece. But then, the white behind Henry stood out too much. So, I took a deep breath and inked right on top of Henry! Ya gotta take risks in art! Otherwise, you’ll never grow! And I think it came out perfect! Here’s a close up. You can click on any of the images to see them bigger. See? The inking just makes ...

StampInsanity #14: Betcha Bottom Dollar!

It’s time for a sketch challenge with the Groovy Gurlz of StampInsanity !!! The sketch is based on the good ‘ol Benjamin. Have a look-see! Check out that loooong rectangle! Perfect for throwin’ a fat check inside right??? I realized that I don’t use Beth’s fabulous sentiments enough, so I figured this was the perfect card to use one! Originally, I was going to use one of her fabulous characters…but I loved using the sentiment in the middle instead! Isn’t it beautiful? The phrase, the different fonts… I just love this sentiment! I printed it on white cardstock and then sprayed it with Patina and Lily Pad Glimmer Mist. See the bit of sparkle? You can click on any of my photos to see them bigger. I used papers from Prism, Basic Grey, and K & Co. I used the paper with the circles, to mimic the rest of the circles in the design. The floral paper was used because I loved hot the colors worked with the other papers. It’s not your typical romantic card. It’s sweet and happy and fun. A...

StampInsanity Challenge #13 A Recipe

It’s time for Lucky 13! This week, the Groovy Gurlz and YOU are challenged by StampInsanity to make a card using the following recipe: you must use: - Black Cardstock, - Pearls, - and a Skull shape, design, or whatever you can find! Totally simple for me! I have to say, I loved this challenge! I had my card made days ago! Which is really good for me!!! I might even need to play along again… ;} I don’t usually use so much in the citrusy tones, but I was really in the mood for it when I made this card. Here’s a closeup of my coloring, and the lovely Nicholette. I used my EX Success watercolor markers this time around. And just a couple Sakura markers too. You can click on nay of my pics to see them bigger. How cool is this skull? I got it from my Mom’s stash of stuff that she got at work (JoAnns). Sometimes she comes home with some awesome finds! This was one of them! I know, I know… you’re probably all shocked that I used only ONE skull on this card… I just didn’t want to overdo it....

StampInsanity Challenge 12: Kickin’ Korners!

Hello my friends! It is time for another groovy StampInsanity Challenge!!! This week, we have a sketch for you. But, with a twist! You need to do something funky with your empty korners!!! Here’s my card. This is Zeke. Isn’t he handsome? He totally reminds me of Davey Havok from AFI. He’s so spiffy! Wanna see a closeup? Once again, I broke out the colored pencils. I just can’t get enough of them! I love his hair. That little touch of red is so cool, don’tcha think? I added a bit of glitter to the red cardstock on the background. The black and white paper already had it. I used my one and only set of Nestabilities for all of the shapes. Love that set, but I really need to expand my collection! Now it’s time for you to take a peek at the rest of the Groovy projects the Groovy Gurlz created. And I would like to welcome my dear friend Erica to the team! She is the June Guest Designer, and I am SO glad she has joined us!!! And remember, you can only get these stamps at the Stamp Happe...
