Bombshell Blog Hop: Boy Toy

This is the second blog hop I’m in today! Phew! If you’re looking for the Artful INKables hop, please click HERE. But, take a peek at what’s happening in this post first! ;}

Tomorrow is the first day of July. Which means that as of tomorrow, I am officially Ms. Bombshell!!! I am so stoked to kick off my month long term with this fabulous blog hop!!! Here’s what Kas challenged us to do:

Time for being hot...it's summer!
So what's the deal with a "Boy Toy" bloghop.
Well, it's dedicated to the men in our lives.
Doesn't have to be a boyfriend or husband..... maybe a soldier, a father, or just a masculine theme or card.
Bombshell stamps have always been great for "manly" things, but now more than ever.
Just think about the new digi clothes stamps for the Bombshell Angel. The policeman, fireman, etc... they are GREAT for sending out that perfect card.
AND MAN...the new motorcycle stamps !!!
Perhaps your project will just use masculine colors...maybe a great Father's Day project.

Love this challenge! But, I changed it up a teeny bit! Take a look!

Boy-Toy-1

I made a layout of me with my hot little PT Cruiser! This is just a little taste of what You’ll be seeing from me this month!!! My layout is about my ride not being a Boy’s Toy… even though there are plenty of boys that want it!!!

Boy-Toy-2

I used Bombshell’s Angel stamp to give some va va voom to my vroom! I just had to color her to match me! How cute do we look in polka dots??? Here’s a close up.

Boy-Toy-4

I did her up with a mix of colored pencils and markers. I think she’s fabulous!!! And behind her, you can see I embossed some flames in Platinum…to coordinate with the flames on my car! Please click on any of the images to see them bigger.

Boy-Toy-5

I hand wrote my title…I wanted to make it just slightly girly, but with a bit of an edge…hence the super straight and slightly curly letters. And, I had some bubble wrap laying around, so I inked it up, and stamped away!

Boy-Toy-3

My journaling spot is also a stamp, and I embossed that in Platinum as well, then cut it out. It says:

“This is my little Hot Rod. I just love my 2001 PT Cruiser. And I love to see people’s jaws drop when they realize it’s not a boy’s toy, but a chicks smokin’ ride!”

And this is so true. I have done a good amount of work to the car (myself, thank you very much) and folks are often impressed by this. So now before I send you off, I want you to promise me you’ll come back soon! I have lots of fun Bombshell stuff up my sleeve, in addition to all of the other projects I’ve got going on. Now hop along to my wonderful friend, Danielle and have an inspiring day!!!

Alison, one word...AWESOME!! The layout is fabulous and what a great take on the challenge! Love that sassy photo of you with your hot ride and all of the little details on this page. That handwritten title, the smokin' bombshell, the flames, etc. Every detail makes this project even more amazing ;D Oh yeah, and have a blast this month as the pin-up! Can't wait to see what you have in store for everyone!

Fantastically great layout!

You know I love those photos. You know that I love your Cruiser. However, I LOVE this layout. So many great details from the wonderfully colored Bombshell Angel, to the embossed flames, to the emblem journaling block to that amazing hand-drawn title.

Lastly, I think the boys don't want the car. They want you.

P.S. Did you detail your car? If so, I'm gonna drive mine out so you can do it up.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
