SISC #15 Inspiration Photo for a Birthday Card

Hello out there! It’s time for another StampInsanity Challenge with the Groovy Gurlz! I’ve got an inspiration pic to share with you.

SISC15Bday

The mission is to chose one of the color combos on these fabulous cakes and make a birthday card! I love the colors on the cake on the right, so that’s what I used.

Beachy-Keen-1

So let me be straight with you. This card doesn’t look finished to me. I think I need to add some Stickles to the circles (in silver). It just needs a bit ‘o glam. But, it’s late and I am exhausted… so I will have to play around with it at a later time. I do however, love how Beach Maddie came out!

Beachy-Keen-2

She’s rockin’ a bit of a tan. And her hair has been kissed by the sun. Not your tyical birthday card, I know…but we like to groove a little differently here right? Plus, when I thought of this senti, I knew I had a winner!

Beachy-Keen-3

“Hope your Birthday is Beachy-Keen!” Cute right? Thanks! So other then the lack of glitz, I thing the card is super cute. And it’s just a teeny taste of what’s to come!!! (…hint)

So go and check out the rest of the Groovy Gurlz projects now! You are sure to love ‘em all! And then, it’s your turn to play along! Don’t ya wanna win some free digis??? Join the insanity!!!

One more thing… I would like to wish Beth, the Grooviest Gurl in all the land, a very Happy (early) Birthday! You rock!!!

Hey Alison, thank you so much for always stopping by my blog to show me so love. I love your card. I almost did the same thing with the circles but less is more with a masculine card.

I love this!! You did an amazing job toning in her skin - geez, Girl!! Beautiful work! I think it looks fab - I always think my cards don't look finished and then I crush them into "overdone"... lol Great card!!

Too cute! I like how you carried out the polka dot theme in addition to the color scheme. I think it looks finished, but you do love your sparkle ;o)

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
