Day 13 of 31: Vampire Queen

Hello! It's Day 13 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a card that features a fabulous image from The East Wind called Lucy Loo Vampire Queen. I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I love how her skin and eyes turned out. Her skin has a greenish gray color to it, which I thought was great for a vampire. These markers blend different colors so beautifully. I can't say enough good things about them. The highlights in her hair were done with a white Molotow One4All marker. I got it from Blick . This is seriously the best white marker/pen I have even used. And there are 3 different sized tips you can get. I added some ink on the background of the image to age it a bit and to dull out the white of the cardstock. I used Desert Sands and Rich Cocoa Memento . They're from Imagine . And of course, this was another perfect opportunity to spray some of Imagine's Love Letter irRESISTable Spray on the background for blood splatter. That's it for me...

Left of Center with Dilly Beans

Hello! Did you know that I am now a part of Left of Center Creative Challenges ? I am! And I am stoked about it. This group focuses on dark-themed challenges, which is so up my alley. This challenge theme is Anything Goes, as long as it's dark/creepy/fantasy, etc. And, we are sponsored by Dilly Beans , which is another DT I am on. I used Dracula's Lollipop for this card. I colored the image with watercolor markers as well as alcohol markers. Yeesh. I don't know what happened to the color on this photo but he looks reeeeally yellow! Not the case in real life! Anywho, my little teeth in the lower right corner were made with a stamp from Inkadinkado and Shrinky Dinks. I thought they were perfect. Ahhhh....the color is good here. I kept the card clean and simple. I hope you like it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the "B" Team for LOC HERE . Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Paint and Splatter: S&S DT Throwdown!

Hello friends and fiends. Today, I am sharing with you a project that I made for the Smeared & Smudged DT Throwdown. What's that you ask? Well, you can check out the rules  HERE , but basically, it's a bunch of teams that are pitted against each other to see who has the coolest project in a set theme. My team is the Ali Kats, and we are Kathi , G ittery Katie and moi. The theme for this first go-around is "Paint and Splatter." I love this challenge! I decided to do something I don't do too often. I made a tag. The Ali Kats knew we wanted to do at least one project featuring our Bombshell Stamps , (that's what brought us together, after all!) and what better way to kick off the Throwdown? I went with my favorite (and first) Bombshell, Pirate's Life . And I vamped her up. A lot. Mmmmmm....someone just had a big meal. Look at the smear on her arm from wiping her mouth! Perhaps she should carry a napkin, or some Wet Ones..... I used gray and a pal...

Verity Vamp and Boris the Bat: SBS Blog Hop!

It's Friday during the week of a Simply B Stamps release, so that means it's blog hop day! Although we released the new Spunky Spooks collection a wee bit earlier than usual, we certainly didn't want to pass up the chance for a fun hop. Today, we are sharing Verity Vamp and Boris the Bat. Love her! She's a vamp...of course I love her! She is my second favorite of this collection...shocking, I know! But Marcy comes out on top with this one. Did you see her? Check out my previous post for a card I made with her, and her pet scorpion Moses if you missed it. She's fabulous! I love her outfit! Especially that hat! I have a thing for using purple and red together, so that was the obvious choice for me when I started to color this image in. I used mostly watercolor markers for this, but with a few Copics thrown into the mix. My sentiment is also from SBS , and it's from the Wickidz senti collection . You've gotta snag those sentiments! I used my Dri...

Release Day of Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween

Howdy! It’s release day for Simply Betty Stamps’ Sweet Gothic Kids Halloween line! Today I will be showing you 2 of the last 3 images. This is an adorable collection, and I know it’s going to sell like mad! So let’s take a peek at my creations. First up, is Vampiress Tilly. Isn’t she fabulous? I love her look, her pose, everything about her! I colored her with my markers, and I am quite pleased with the end result. Isn’t her hair cool? I’d like you to please take a look see at my background. I was lucky enough to win 2 stencils of my choice from Dreamweaver Stencils, and one of the ones I chose was this beautiful Damask background. I knew it would be purrfect for Halloween! I used it (incorrectly…I kinda made up my own way!) with Perfect Pearls from Ranger. It came out very soft and blurry…but I really like the end result! Next time I plan on using the stencil with paint. Yummy! Look at her teeny fangs? Don’t you just love her? And now, on to Witchy Wednesday. I asked for my...

Flower Power and Metal Mania!

Wacky title, huh? It needs to be, because not only am I bringing you the latest StampInsanity Challenge, but today is also the monthly Smeared & Smudged Member Blog Hop! Shall we get this party started? This week’s StampInsanity Challenge (#55) is Flower Power. I went a route that I’m betting you may not have pictured. As promised yesterday, I broke out the Distress Inks once again and colored up Vampire Henry. Take a look! I just didn’t feel like goin’ with the pretty route. I was inspired by Henry’s rose, so I broke out my DCWV Immortal Love Stack and used the rose paper for my background. Here’s a close up of my coloring job. I right like the way this came out! Of course, the senti is also from StampInsanity! I LOVE this sentiment! Time for you to play along with the Ward 2 Groovy Gurlz! Show us your Flower Power! And on to the next… Today is a sad day for me. It marks the 1 year Anniversary of the death of Pete Steele…the frontman to my favorite band, Type O Negative. I sti...

Day 20 of 31 Days of Halloween

Ok....SO I f'ed up big time... If you were here this morning... you would have seen that I had TWO projects up today. My Strange Skin card and a StampInsanity card. Trouble is...it's NOT Thursday! So...I took the StampInsanity portion of this post down. This is what happens when I get no sleep! So...that post will be up tomorrow, along with something else. Major oops! Sorry Beth! (blushing) Now for my 31 Days project! I used one of Strange Skin’s Cameos for this card. I love this whole set!!! Isn’t she awesome! She has such a snarky look on her face! It’s tough to see,, but I used some pale shades to color in the vamp and the backgrounds. You can click on any of my photos to see them bigger. I’m really happy with the candle holders. My husband suggested I color them to look like they had a patina finish, and I think they turned out great! As you can see from this photo, I stamped some batty bats on to my deep red cardstock. Plus, I used Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist along wi...

Darque Obsession2

I have another thrilling new release to share with you today!!! Remember last' week’s release from Tonya? Darque Obsession? Those gorgeous she-vamps??? Well, here come the boys! And my oh my, are they H-O-T!!! I made a card featuring the guy who happens to now be my favorite vamp actor. Rob who??? Move over all you bad-boy vamp wannabes… make room for Ian Somerhalder, otherwise known as Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries. This image was inspired by him. Behold! The “Smoldering” Vampire… Uh, yeah. Yum! THIS is what a vampire is supposed to look like in my world. Tom Cruise as a blonde? No. A guy who looks more wolf than vamp? Hell no! But this guy right here??? Oh yeah! I must say I busted my butt coloring this digi in. Seriously. I HAD to get it just right! I even watched an episode of Vampire Diaries whilst coloring so I could make sure I got the high and low lights of his jacket right! Any excuse to watch Damon the show! His skin color doesn't photograph too well. Bu...

TTIC #51 Edward Cullen

Happy Tuesday! There’s another great Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge for you to participate in! This week we are focusing on none other than Edward himself! The super talented Jen came up with this one, and here it is! It's time to focus on Edward. Even though the stories are told from Bella's point of view all of the books with the exception of Breaking Dawn focus almost entirely on Edward, through Bella's mind. Even in New Moon when Edward is gone her every action is focused on not losing her connection with him. So for this challenge I want you to focus on your connection to Edward. What does his character mean to you? For the creative challenge: Create a project that focuses on Edward. For the comment portion: How do you feel about Edward's character? Is it like, love or disdain? Have you read the partial draft of Midnight Sun? What did you think about reading the story from his point of view? This week, I decided to combine the Edward challenge with the Twi...

TTIC #37: A Little Romance

It’s Tuesday! Time for another fabulous Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week’s challenge was created by Donna … and what a thought provoking challenge it is! Here’s the scoop. “Creative Portion: Do you have a favourite Edward and Bella, Jacob and Bella or even a Alice and Jasper romantic moment? Create something that celebrate’s their love or how about creating something for that special person who you love. Comment Portion: Tell us about your most favourite romantic moment… be it in the books or real life!” I have been itching to make jewelry lately! I have had no time for my favorite craft! I know... you're shocked. It's NOT scrapbooking or cardmaking! So for my project portion, I decided to highlight my favorite moment Twilight the movie. Literally moment. If you blink… it’s over. It’s when Bella’s is putting all of the pieces together and realizing that Edward is a vampire. You briefly see a couple of frames where Edward looks like a “typical” vampire and he i...

TTIC #27 Jasper Hale

So, I was pretty excited to do last week's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. I instantly had some cool ideas in my head that I thought would be different from all the rest. I'll get into that in a minute... But, I needed my copy of Breaking Dawn in order to have a quote/get my facts straight. My sis had my copy though... which you probably wouldn't think would be a big deal since she lives right next door!!! I also need to reference Eclipse, which I do have in my possesion. Unfortunately, she never gave me the copy, and now it's Tuesday again, and there's a new challenge. I still would like to try and do it, but since the week's up, I'll just blog a little about it and if I have time (and she brings me my book), I'll make the project I had in mind. Fingers crossed that I get the time!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! So, in Breaking Dawn, you finally hear about Jasper's story when he first became a vampire, and his "life" before the Cullens. It...
