Hello! It's post #2 for me today. Here, I am sharing a new card that I have made for A Day for Daisies . We are sharing some beautiful images from the Forest Friends category, and my digi is called New Shoes . I colored this sweet fairy with my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I inked up an acrylic stamping block with the markers and applied the colors to the images with a brush and some water. For her wings, I used my Imagine Crafts irRESISTables Pico Embellisher in Shimmer, to give a little bit of glimmer to them. My background was done with chalk. Hello out there! I have a new Left of Center project for you today. This week, we are sponsored by SLS Lines , and the challenge is to "Use Mainly Blue." ***If you are looking for my A Day for Daisies Post, please click HERE . I chose to work with Garden Fairy Flower Fairy . I think she's so pretty. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers, and used some chalks for my background. Here's a closeup. For my card base, I used a purple Dylusions spray on the super cool Mosaic Swirls Dreamweaver stencil. I spritzed the stencil directly, and then placed the wet stencil on to my green card. This gave me the negative image of the stencil. Of course, I sprayed the stencil on to white cardstock, so I have the positive image to use at a later date. Greetings! I was pretty inspired to play along with this month's Dreamweaver Stencils challenge which is February Flutters. Plus, I just won a new (to me) stencil so I just had to use it. Here's my creation. I started off with my new Lotus stencil (LG 720 ), and I chalked it with 4 colors all over my card. Then I used Black Embossing Paste with the Butterfly ( LJ 916 ). I let it sit for about an hour, and then with a brush, I applied Nouveau Orange, Amber Glow, Kimono Red, and Moonstone Metallic F/X  randomly. Look at the pretty shimmer! Then I added a border with a Martha Stewart punch, and my "Flutter" sentiment is from Smeared Ink . Thank you for joining me today. Have an inspiring day!

Hello Everyone! All month long, I have been itching to participate in the latest Dreamweaver Stencils challenge. It's April Showers Bring May Flowers. You can check it out on their blog HERE . As it turns out, I had gotten a lovely rose stencil from Dreamweaver because I won their March challenge (yay me!). And it looked just perfect with my Bombshell Stamps Mi Amor  set, so I knew I wanted to put the two together. Here's what I came up with. Seriously, don't the roses in her hair go perfectly with the stencil? I started off by coloring Mi Amor with my watercolor markers. Then, I added the rose background with chalk in 4 colors. Here's a closer look. The colors match much better in real life. For some reason (I have complained about this before), my camera, no matter the setting/lighting, doesn't photograph purples properly. I can never capture them right. They always look too blue. Here's another shot of those soft, pretty roses in the background....

Greetings! Welcome to Preview Day 2 of Simply Betty Stamps' latetst release...The Funky Potters! I didn't play along yesterday, but with good reason. I combined yesterday's image with today's in one card! I'm so proud of myself, now that I can merge images together in Photoshop. I'm sure most of you have been doing that for years...but I really have such a hard time with computers. And it's been forever since I took Photoshop in college. And I don't even know what version that was! But enough about me and my computer schtuff...let's get to Hermoine and Ginny!!! Truth be told, I did not read the Harry Potter books...except for the 1st one. Wait! Don't shoot! It's not because I didn't like them....I was in college (huh...seems to be a running theme today) when they came out, and I really just had to focus on my art. Hmmm…perhaps I should have saved that title for something else, as it conjures up a lot of very interesting things… Maybe I’ll just make a 2.0 version. But enough of me babbling! Today I am bringing you a card using Misty Benson’s Tarot Set 1: Death, only available from Smeared Ink . I used some very cheery colors in only a couple of key areas of the image. Don’t these skellies look like they are having a great time? Do you see the teeny tiny ones falling in the rain? Click on any of the photos to get a bigger view. I didn’t want the rest of the card to take away from this image, but I wanted to use more of those bright colors. So, rather then using papers, I broke out my Smeared Ink Urban Decay set and used the wood grain image. I stamped it all around the edge of my card with Versa Mark ink. Then, I colored the border in with my chalks. Hmmm…this would have been a great technique for yesterday’s blog hop, huh? I just haphazardly rubbed the colors on. Then I glued the Death image on...

Today I bring you a very exciting Blog Hop! Not only is Smeared Ink releasing several new digi sets today (plus a few singles), but it is also the end of this term for the Design Team. We will be saying goodbye to some of our friends, but hello to some new ones. Our very special Guest Designers have also joined us for the hop! So let’s get this party started! I was given an image from this set to work with. Can you guess which one??? I was given the phoenix to work with! Hmmm…wonder why??? wink! My Phoenix was super excited when I showed him the image. He wants to color one in for himself. But, here’s my version! Now, in addition to working with a brand new image…Kelli and I challenged the DT to use at least 2 other Smeared Ink sets in their creations. We love to show off the versatility of these stamps…and how well the sets all work together. I was able to use 3 other sets for my card. Haunted Design House …how I love thee…let me count the ways… Maybe not. That would take waaaay too long! I haven’t been able to play along with the first few challenges of 2011, but I’ve got one today, and I am really happy with it! This week, you need to create something “using angelic products or images and creeping them out as only HDHers can!” My project uses a smattering of different Smeared Ink images. May I say, that is one of the reasons I love Smeared Ink…their images all work so well together! Enjoy… I started off with the Praise Angel, by coloring him in with Twinkle H20’s. Cut him out…then went to town on my background. I was immediately inspired by the Confined Space stamp from Urban Decay…and thought it would work really well with the church from Holy City. Added some crows (holy City…made ‘em grey so that they sorta looked like doves flying up towards the heavens), other textures from Urban Decay…ink…chalk…done! The entire background is stamped directly on the card its...

I love new releases! It means I have new things to play with! Today I am sharing a card that I made using one of the 4 brand spankin’ new sets form Smeared Ink . This is Inky Dreams. Isn’t it fabulous??? There are a bajillion things I can do with this set! But for now, I’ll share just one… I used the Smudgy Fingers Inky Dreams sentiments, along with the Inky Badge. That stamp is HUGE! For this card, I stamped, inked, smeared, smudged and Stickled…and man, was it fun!!! There’s ink, Glimmer Mist, Stickles, and chalk on the card. Here’s a close up. Check out all the Glimmer Mist!!! You can click on any of the photos to see it bigger. I smeared Stickles inside the blobs and sprays of ink. I like the added texture a lot. It's time for that latest StampInsanity challenge!!! This week it's all about embossing! Beth wants us to "show off your mad embossing skillz!!!" So...since it's something I LOVE to do, I had a blast with this challenge!!! I embossed 3 times on this card. First, I embossed my light blue paper with a Fiskars Texture Plate (and then chalked the heck out of it!). I embossed with Verdigris colored powder (Ranger)around my sentiment. Lastly, I embossed in clear around the edge of my card, to make my blue ink pop. You can see all of my embossing a bit better in this photo. I am sick. My kids and I have nasty colds. My husband was sick, and now it’s our turn. So, sadly this will be another quickie post. I made this card featuring another amazing Sweet Pea Stamps image- Fairy of the Night from Plate 29. The Design Team Members of Smeared and Smudged have been asked to create cards and things with some of ching-chou kuik’s fantasy images. How lucky we are!!! So I decided to tie this image in with Macabre Monday’ s latest challenge: Purple Haze. Please click on any image to see it bigger. I was so excited about this challenge because purple is one of my favorite colors. My other favorite color is teal, so I jumped at the chance to use them together! I think it is such a striking combination. I used Twinkle H20’s, colored pencils and chalk once again for the fairy. I just love using those 3 mediums together!
