Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hello! I am excited to be participating in a very special Birthday Bash Blog Hop starting today, Thursday, January 24th, 2019 and ending at 11:59pm EST on Sunday, January 27, 2019! The Designing Divas and I, along with several members of the talented White Rose Crafts design team, will be creating extra special Birthday Themed Shaker Cards for the hop today! In addition, my project for today also work's with this week's White Rose Crafts theme, which is "Water Activated Inks." Please be sure to read through the bottom of my post for details on a Freebie Sparkle Blend, free shipping, and all of the Hop links. Here's my card. I was inspired by the Tim Holtz " Blueprint Assortment " stamp set. I've had it for a while, but never got around to using it. And I thought this hop, along with the WRC theme was the perfect opportunity . I decided to go with the "Conversation Hearts" Sparkle Blend, because of the wide range of colors in it. Ther...

Make a Path

Hello! Today, I have a new shaker card to share with you. I was really inspired by one of the newest stamp sets from Beth Duff Designs , and I hadn't had a chance to play with it until now. The set is called Faith Can Move Mountains. Unfortunately, the company is going out of business so if have been interested in any of their stamp sets, this is the only opportunity you'll have to shop. I knew when I started this card that I was going to make a shaker, and I let the card happen organically. This helped me to decide which Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground I was going to use. I chose But First, Coffee . Gingerbread Man would have worked too, but I opted to steer away from the glitter sequins found in Gingerbread Man, simply because of the overall look of this card. I started off with Kraft cardstock and I embossed the mountain scene with Champagne PearLustre embossing powder from Stampendous. I used a Posca Pen to add some snow to the mountains, and I inked the e...

Mermaid Scales are Super Duper

Hello! I've got another fun shaker card to share with you today. I really love the versatility of the How You Bean jar from Lawn Fawn, because you can fill it with pretty much anything and it will look fantastic. For this particular version, I decided to go with Mermaid Scales Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. This particular blend was released previously, but it is still available. I chose this blend, because the recipient loves blue and I really like the contrast with the shades of green. The colors of the Sparkle Blend helped me choose the colors for the rest of the card. I used Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide with a Time Holtz stencil for my background. I paired it with some Coordinations canvas cardstock. Here's a closer look inside the shaker. I added some stars from Lawn Fawn's add-on shaker die set for How You Bean?. They add a little bit of a cute factor that I love. The jar and lid were colored with only 3 Zig Clean Color Marke...

Get Kids Crafty Blog Hop: Dinosaurs

Hello! It's time for the June Get Kids Crafty Blog Hop! This month's theme is "Dinosaurs." Beth, from Beth Duff Designs was once again very generous, and let us use her Rawrsome digital stamp set for this hop. My daughter and I each made a card for the hop. Here's mine... I decided to go with pastel dinos because, why not? I usually see them in earth tones, so I wanted to shake things up a bit. I colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I also used a Tim Holtz Stencil with some Distress Oxide Inks for my background. Here's my daughter's card. She went with the bold colors of Memento Markers. I especially love her rainbow dinosaur! And I think it is hilarious that she has one dino riding the back of another. The inside has the rest of the dinosaurs. I love her card. Her script (which she is so proud of), her misspelling of "birthday" because she was concentrating so hard on her script, the way she colored all of the dinosaurs...e...

Make your Own Sunshine with WW

Hello! It's time for a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge . For this theme, we are sponsored by the fantastic Vera Lane . I love these images because they are fun and quirky. The challenge is "Make your Own Sunshine." I used images from the Aloha set . The set comes with 5 images, but I only used 2 today. I colored the images on Canson Mixed Media Paper and colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers. I recently splurged a bit on myself and bought the 12 new Distress Oxide Inks from Tim Holtz, and my background was created with those. I didn't think the images needed more embellishing, so I kept the ATC simple. I'm hoping to get another couple done for this challenge, so please check back. Meanwhile, give the Wicked Wednesday Blog a visit to see what the rest of the team has created. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Stufftainer Tags

I, probably like you, have a lot of stamps. I need them when I have so many awesome inks and sprays from Imagine! I use a few different ways to organize them depending on the brand, size, and how often I need to access them. I need to get to my Stampendous Cling Stamps frequently, so I keep them near my desk in Stampendous' Stufftainers, and they then sit in a magazing holder. But, it's kind of tough to see which stamp is in which Stufftainer without pulling several out. So I decided to make tags to label them, and of course I used lots of wonderful Imagine products to make them.  Supplies : Imagine : Fireworks! Spray : Danube Blue, Desert Sand, New Sprout, Rose Bud, Bahama Blue Kaleidacolor : Calypso, Creole Spice VersaMagic : Pretty Petunia, Sahara Sand, Red Brick irRESISTables : Silver Pico Embellisher Memento Ink : Grape Jelly Embossing Powder : Black, White Other: Stampendous : Stufftainers, Assorted Stamps from Andy Skinner, Nathalie Kalback, Laurel Burch...

Fashion Gifts from A Day for Daisies

Hello! I have a tag to share with you today that features Fashion Gifts from A Day for Daisies . I colored the image with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I cut her out, and then die cut a Tim Holtz tag. I played with some Dylusions paint, as well as a Nathalie Kalbach stencil from the Fashion Dame set. The stencil was inked with Night Sky VersaMagic from Imagine . I used the Wander stamp from Stampendous at the bottom, and added some ribbons to the top. I thought the sentiment was appropriate for ladies that like to roam the mall. I am entering this into the newest Simon Says Stamp challenge , which is "New Something." This gal has certainly purchased a lot of new somethings...I wonder what they are! Plus, this digi is new for me. That's it for me today. I'll have another project for A Day for Daisies tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Bats and a Cat: Day 28 of 31

Greetings! It is the 28th day of the 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I have a card that was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video (called Back Stamping ) that I recently watched. After you check out the video, you'll understand what I did, which is actually pretty simple. But it's a fun technique! The bat stamps are from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I used Purple Petunia VersaMagic and Elderberry Memento inks from Imagine . My sentiment is called Prowl , and it's from Stampendous . I stamped that with Elderberry too. I also used the "V" Fitted Frames to die cut the sentiment. I thought it needed a little bit of sparkle, so I spritzed Sheer Shimmer Sparkle all over the sentiment and background. I also added a ribbon from Creative Impressions. This was a pretty quick card to make, and I really liked trying out a new technique. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fangtastic day!

Skull Charm: Day 29 of 31 Days of Halloween

Ack! It is SO close to the end! Today is Day 29 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today I have a super quick pendant that I made, using one of the Tim Holtz stamps that I won from last year's 31 Days. I used this image once before this month, but it's so cool that I just had to use it again. Here's a photo of the stamp on my block, and the charm next to it. Yup...I used Shrinky Dinks! I LOVE using them, and it's been a couple of months since I have, so I thought this was a good time to break them out. Keep in mind, that since this stamp has writing, I'll only be able to wear it with the matte side showing. I like the look, though I prefer the glossy side. If you make these yourself, try to avoid using an image with writing. I stamped the image with Staz-On, and I used just 2 colored pencils. Super quick. Just for fun, here's how cool the glossy side is....it didn't flatten out perfectly, but I'm totally col with that. Please ...

Toile and a Kitty: Day 6 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Hello! It's time for Day 6 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! Today I have a card that came together pretty quickly. I started off with a Tim Holtz cat stamp that I got in my prize pack from last year's 31 Days. Then, I found a cool stamp I had forgotten about. A toile stamp that has been creepified. So there's witches, skulls, tombstones. I tell ya, if I found this in fabric form, I would totally be making some new curtains! Or a skirt...or something. If you click on the photo to see it bigger, you'll see all of the little details. This stamp is from Recollections, which is Michaels' brand. My background paper is from K & Company, I love the leaves on it. My sentiment is from Tiddly Inks.  I almost forgot about my washi tape! Also from Recollections. Love those crows. I hope you've liked my piece for today. I hope to have some non paper crafts up soon. If time allows it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, a...

Trick or Treat! Day 2 of 31 Days of Halloween

Greetings! As many of you know, I was the VERY lucky winner of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween last year. And boy did I get a lot of fabulous treats! I plan on sharing a bunch of projects this year using some of my winnings, and today is one of those days. I received 2 awesome Tim Holtz stamp sets, and this is one of them. I stamped the image and sentiment using Chestnut Roan ink from Color Box. This is my absolute favorite brown ink. I just love the color and the smoothness of the pad. Then, I added some color using 3 alcohol markers to the skull. I used some pink, which I thought was a funky choice, but I love the end result. I used some Distress Ink around the edges as well as more Chestnut Roan ink. The sentiment needed a little bit more of something, so I spritzed it with Imagine Crafts' irRESISTables spray (have you seen the new NEON colors?!). It adds great texture and a funky sheen. See the spritzing? Cool, right? So as you can probably tell, I am...
