Barista Blend Kit

Greetings! This week, the White Rose Crafts team is sharing projects using the May Subscription Kit called " Barista Blend ." This is for all of you coffee lovers out there! There is a cute stamp set from Little Acres, fantastic papers from Echo Park, and exclusive Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, and plenty more. The kit is currently available on pre-order, so if you want it, grab it while you can! This cow is happily about to start a cup of "cowfee" and would like you to join her! I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers, and I added Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze to her spectacles to make them look glassy. I inked the edges of the stamped panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide . I used a couple of pieces of patterned paper from the Echo Park "Coffee" collection to mat my image, and I backed it all with a cream card base from my own stash, which I inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide . I also added a few sequins from the older ...

Emerald Shaker with Toucan

Greetings! I've got a new shaker card to share with you that uses the beautiful Emerald Sparkle Blend, which is part of the Birthstone Collection from Doodles Paper Playground . Emerald is the May birthstone, Amber was able to capture some really lovely shades of green in this Blend.  To make this Blend really stand out, I kept the background of my shaker window white. As my other focal point, I used the Laurel Burch Toucan stamp from Stampendous. I colored this guy with Zig Clean Color Markers and I fussy cut him out. I put him on a mat of blue cardstock that was die cut with a Lawn Fawn die (leftover from another card).  I heat embossed a Laurel Burch sentiment that kept the card from being pigeon-holed into a specific category. My shaker window was made with an Avery Elle banner die. And let's talk about the Sparkle Blend for a minute. There are such cool shapes in it!!! There are these shard-like pieces that look like broken green glass, and I love them! Plus, there...

Dude, Let's Celebrate

Greetings! Today I am sharing a card that features the new " Mardi Gras Parade " Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground , along with 2 of the " Sweet Treats " stamps from Stampendous.  I stamped the ice cream cone and doughnut  repeatedly all over my background with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne . Then I used Koi Watercolors to paint them. I mixed a few of the colors myself, like the pistachio ice cream and the frosting on the doughnut. That's always something I love to do, no matter the medium. I used some " Crushed Grapes " Nuvo Drops on the pistachio ice cream to add a bit of shine and dimension beyond the sequins I was going to add.  The "Mardi Gras Parade" Sparkle Blend is filled with shades of purple, green, and gold. It even has glitter sequins and day-glow sequins! As perfect as it is for Mardi Gras, don't pigeon hole it for just that purpose. It will work for many occasions. You can see some of the beautiful colors i...

The Brilliant Colors of Amethyst

Hello Sparkle Blends fans! I've got a new shaker card to share with you, using one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground , called " Amethyst ." It's part of the birthstone collection, and it truly captures the brilliant colors of amethyst. Amethyst the stone comes in varying shades of purple, sometimes tinged with pink, and very often has veins of white running through it. That is exactly what is embodied in this mix of sequins, mini gems, and glitter sequins.  I chose to color up a Laurel Burch cat for this card. It's actually a holiday stamp, but by switching up the colors and design of the card, this image can absolutely be used all year long. I colored the cat with Zig Clean Color Markers, and I used Nuvo Drops to fill in the "ornaments' on the tree.  For my background, I chose to use Spun Sugar , Seedless Preserves , and  Peacock Feathers  Distress Oxides. I blended the colors together and heat set them. Then I added a Lau...

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #17

Hello! Today, I am sharing a card for the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge , which happens to be a color challenge. I love color challenges, and it's been a while since I have participated in one. I used the Christmas Dreams set, which I just got through a Black Friday sale. I stamped the images I wanted to use on Canson Mixed Media Paper with VersaFine Ink and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I fussy cut all of the pieces out, and used Nuvo Drops in Sea Breeze on the ornaments (they were colored with the Persian Blue Zig first) for dimension and shine. I used some Doodlebug wood grain paper and a Sizzix die to create my "room" for the elements. The background cardstock is from Bo Bunny. I am really pleased with this card, and I love the versatility of the Christmas Dreams stamp set because of all the different elements. I think I need to make a kitty card next. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Stenciled Witch with Glow: Day 30 of 31

Greetings my spooktacular fiends! It's Day 30 of the 31 Days of Halloween. Eek! It's almost the end. Today I am sharing a card that uses a stencil I used in the beginning of the month, but in a totally different way. I know that some folks are a little intimated by stencils, so my goal was to show you a simple way to use them that gives a cool effect. I used the Broom Flight stencil from Stampendous. All the possible colors that can be used and some of the smaller spaces may get some people a little anxious. But by simply spraying one side of the stencil and pressing it in to watercolor paper, you can achieve fast look. I used Cut Grass and Crushed Grape Dylusions Spray, with a teensy bit of Metallic Orange Memories Mist for a bit of a shine. My card base, which is black, has Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold brushed around the border. On the stenciled layer, I also dripped some Tuxedo Black Fireworks! Spray. But, I wanted some dimension and an added surprise of glow. I hav...
