Think Ink Artful INKables Challenge #28

Greetings and salutations! I am thrilled to say that I am the “Challenge Picker” (my own phrase) for the latest Artful INKables Think Ink Challenge. As if the interview from August 20th wasn’t exciting enough! So what did I pick??? Well, for those of you that know me, I love to distress pretty much everything. So my challenge is called: “Distressed out!” Tear it, ink it, sand it…anything and everything to distress your project. Wanna see mine??? Of course, these are Artful INKables stamps! And, if you decide to play along and you use AI stamps, you get an extra entry!!! I really hope you do join in! Now, about my card… I used only ONE piece of cardstock here! I just did different things to the 3 pieces I cut! First, of course is the centerpiece. This awesome Chess Piece is from the Into the Moonlight set. I colored it with my EK Success Watercolor markers. Only 3 shades of brown/tan, actually! Then I inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink and edged it with Walnut Ink Distress ...

Artful INKables Blog Hop

By the time you read this, I will have already seen Eclipse!!! I can’t believe it’s out! I’ll be sure to give you the play by play of my Triple Feature experience after I recover from the throngs of teenagers! So I am in TWO Blog Hops today! This post is obviously for Artful INKables , and the second is for Bombshell Stamps. Please take a look at both of my posts for today! Thanks! ;} So let’s talk Twilight. I made a card using 3 of my fabulous AI stamps. I really, really love these stamps! And I hope it shows in my card! I started off with the harlequin stamp on some spotted yellow paper, and I cut that out. I wanted to use my swirl stamp, so I stamped it a few times, end to end, and cropped it real tight. You actually don’t see the full swirl because I trimmed so much of it off. But I like how it takes up the whole strip on either side. And I stamped my sentiment and laid it on top. After I had all of my pieces, I distressed the hell out of it! Lots of colors, lots of layers, lots ...

FHF Eclipse Pop Culture Challenge & Artful INKables Challenge #4

Can you believe it??? It’s almost time! Time for the release of Eclipse!!! I can hardly wait!!! As I have mentioned before, I am seeing a triple feature starting at 6:30 on Tuesday night! It’s gonna be great!!! Today Erica issued us the latest Pop Culture Challenge for Friends Having Fun . And it’s all about Eclipse!!! Make something Twi-Inspired! Easy-peasy! Plus, I of course had to partake in the 4th and final challenge for Artful INKables too! Their challenge was to create anything but a card. Cool! So…I made a bookmark. I am really into making these lately! And check this out…I didn’t use ANY paper!!! It’s tough to see all the detail in this pic…feel free to click on it to see it bigger! I used 2 Artful INKables stamps for this bookmark. And a whole lotta ink! Here’s a close up. I used just a heavy weight chipboard for the bookmark, and smudged some Fired Brick Distress Ink on top to make it sorta look like wood. Then I stamped the swirls in Color Box’s Chestnut Roan. Last, I st...

Artful INKables Twilight Challenge, Week 2

Hello! I only have time for a really quick post today! I of course, had to play along with Week 2 of the Artful INKables Twilight Challenge. This week we needed to use the colors red, black and white, along with their stamps. Easy peasy! I sprayed the heck out of my card with Black Gold, Candy Apple Red, and Silver Glimmer Mist, using a Glimmer Screen. I love how it turned out. Looks better in person, when you can see all the glimmer though! Added the AI “Peace, Love, Vampires” stamp, inked, distressed, and pop dotted. A few black pearls, and voila! I love this stamp. It’s a great sentiment! Can you see the gold glimmer in the big black splotch in the middle? Beautiful! Have an inspiring day!!!

TTIC #55 Monochromatic Color Challenge

Happy Tuesday! Just a couple more days until New Moon is theatres!!! Are you as excited as I am??? There are a TON of awesome things happening over at Twilight Tuesday . If you’re a Twi-fan… them you are going to LOVE what’s coming up! But first, this week’s challenge… thought up by sweet Eve. She asked us to create a monochromatic card using a Twilight inspired color. I actually thought that this was a pretty tough challenge for me. I never work monochromatically. I love mixing colors together way too much! But I’ve gotta say, it really came together quite nicely! Here’s my card: I had colored this fantabulous digi (Yes folks, I have tip-toed in to the digi world. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone I’m here!!!) from The Greeting Farm last week. I saw him and just HAD to color him! I mixed my own pearly paint using acrylic (Ceramcoat) and shimmer powder (Jacquard). The consistency of the paint is a little off, but I’m working on fixing it. Then it was all about the colored pencils! I love how ...

TTSC #12

Happy Monday! I finally got to do the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #12! I am participating in a Breaking Dawn swap hosted by my awesome friend Tia. These cards are for the swap. But first, here’s the sketch: And here is my card: I liked using something other than the traditional Twi-colors of red, black and white. I wanted it to be fresh. Bella is transformed in Breaking Dawn, and I wanted to reflect that here. I used bright, cheery colors and I highlighted the chess piece almost as if it were an icon. Please click on any of the images to get a bigger photo. I used 2 stamps from Artful INKables, cardstock from DCWV and Prism and markers from EK Success. Dani just posted a new Sketch Challenge, so make sure you go over to Twilight Tuesday to see it. And be SURE to check in with me and TTIC because it’s our 1 year Anniversary Blog Hop!

Breaking Dawn Swap Tags

So I am participating in my very first swap. Of course, it is Twilight related. My friend (and I am proud to say she’s my friend) Tia is hosting this swap on Split Coast Stampers. I’m taking part in a couple of the categories. The first of which is “tags.” They’re supposed to be 3x3, but I just had to use my little Edward stamp again so the tags need to be a little bigger than 3”. Here’s my little creation: I also used stamps from Artful INKables …just can’t get enough of those either! I colored Edward in using my EK markers, except for his skin, which I used a pearlized hard pastel. It’s hard to see in a photo. And his eyes are sparkly because I used Sakura’s Jelly Roll Stardust pen in a topaz color. A little bit ‘o Stickles, some layering and ta-da! A cute little tag that I hope whatever swappers receive it, will enjoy.

TTIC & Artful INKables Sketch Challenge

It’s Monday, and this is the last day of Twilight Tuesday’s collaboration with Artful INKables … although, I can assure you, I will certainly be using the stamps they graciously donated to us quite often! For this challenge, we were to use the June Sketch. Visit the Twilight Tuesday web site for all of the details, plus check out some of the other designer’s projects too! I once again used many of the same supplies for this card as I did for the other cards I’ve done this past week. EK Success Watercolor Markers, Distress Inks by Ranger, a touch of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (on the apple… I used Candy Apple Red which has a fab gold glimmer to it!), and a touch of cardstock from Provo Craft and Murdock Country Creations… but I don’t believe Murdock is in business anymore. I also pop dotted the apple. Be sure to click on the photos for a bigger view! I created a card using this sketch a few posts ago, for my Mom’s 60th Birthday. Take a peek if you haven’t seen it yet. Tomorrow wi...

TTIC and Artful INKables Collaboration Day 4

Wow! Day 4 already! Here is my homage to those proud and few Wolf Girls out there. Don’t get me wrong… I really like Jacob. I think he’s funny, sarcastic, strong willed, a real stand up kinda guy (when he IS a guy of course!)… but I will ALWAYS be a Vampire Chic. Haha… back in the day… when I was on the CB Radio all the time (back in like ‘95), that was my “handle” or nickname. Vampire Chic. That’s me! Anyway, back to my card. I think I got this one made the fastest, but I also think it’s my favorite. Yeah, it’s not as ornate as the first one I made… but there’s just something about it that I really like. Part of it is the colors… tried to keep ‘em in the “russet” family since that’s Jake’s color, but I wanted the Imprinted to really stand out. Almost to make it cautionary. Once a girl is imprinted, watch out! ‘Cause if she’s ever threatened, you’ve got the whole pack to deal with. Hmmm…kinda like the shellans in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. So, my cardstock is Prism and the...

TTIC and Artful INKables Collaboration Day 3

Hello again! It is Day 3 of our fab Twilight Tuesday and Artful INKables collaboration! This is the first card that I had made when I received these fantastic stamps. I so love this focal image and I was stoked when I had gotten it. It (for those of you not in the know…) has the images that are on all 4 book covers. I also used their swirl stamp. In addition, there’s Basic Grey cardstock, Burgundy Stickles, EK Success Watercolor Markers, Black Soot & Fired Brick Distress Ink, and Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Black Embossing Powder. I distressed the edge of the circle by wetting the edge to soften up the cardstock, and then rolling the edge. I topped it off with Black Soot Ink. I popped dotted the circle too, for dimension. The card was distressed with Fired Brick. After embossing the swirl stamp, the 3 tiny dots of stickles added just the right amount of sparkle and extra little something I thought the card needed. I haven’t talked about the comment portion of this week’s challe...

TTIC and Artful INKables Collaboration-Day 2

Technorati Tags: Twilight , TTIC , Twilight Tuesday , Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge , Artful INKables , vampire , stamps , cards , peace sign It is day 2 of Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge’s collaboration with Artful INKables ! I am really excited to share my next card with you! This is the simplest design of my collection thus far. I only used one stamp, and I drew a HUGE peace sign using my EK Success watercolor markers and then a simple outline with Christmas Red Stickles. As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew what I wanted to make with it. I can go in to really long detail about how I like the look of a peace sign, and why I chose that over a heart… but, I think I will keep my description simple… kinda like my card! Have you checked out the other TTIC designers??? If you haven’t, then please go and show them some love! We have all worked so hard on this challenge, and we all love your comments! Check out today’s projects: Beth ~ Dani ~ Eve ~ Jen ~ Julie ~ Mar...

TTIC #36 Special Collaboration with Artful Inkables

I am so excited about this!!! This week’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is super-duper special!!! We a re collaborating with a wonderful stamp company called Artful INKables. They have come out with 2 amazing Twilight Inspired stamp sets and 1 cool set of charms. And we are helping them celebrate the release! Artful INKables was founded by Kristin Soboloski to express her love of rubber stamps, art, and all things crafty. After crafting for many years, Kristin began to design her own rubber stamps and her company was born. I have made 4 cards so far … and will be making more! Here’s the scoop on one of them… I used a total of 5 of the Artful INKables stamps! The harlequin was calling my name, and I liked the chess piece since “Breaking Dawn” is my fave book of the 4. I just started to play… which is easy to do with these stamps! The only materials I used were the stamps, EK Success watercolor markers (my faves!) and a little Amazing Glaze by JudiKins. Oh, and some pop do...
