White Rose Crafts January Add-Ons Hop

Hello and welcome to the White Rose Crafts January "Love Story" Hop! The hop will run from January 14th through January 18th at 12PM. There is a chance for you to win a $15 gift certificate to WRC by leaving a comment at each stop along the way. The winner will be chosen at random after 12PM EST on the 18th. As an added bonus, you projects can be featured on the WRC Blog when we announce our winner! All you need to do is upload a photo of your project to the White Rose Crafts  Facebook Gallery and then you'll have a chance to be featured!
I have a card to share that uses lots of wonderful items that you can find in the White Rose Crafts shop.

I started by looking through the many Add-Ons for the subscription kit (more about that at the bottom of this post). I found that I had a few of the items that would coordinate really well together. The sweet Jackalope from Lawn Fawn's Believe in Yourself stamp set was the perfect jumping off point. I also knew that I wanted to do a shaker card. No big surprise there if you follow my blog.

For the shaker itself, I used Doodles Paper Playground's "Love Potion" Sparkle Blend and I backed it with a piece of Lawn Fawn's Rainbow Perfectly Plaid paper. Man, I can't get enough of that stuff! Once I had those 2 elements ready to go, I set forth on designing the rest of my card.

I love the beautiful Mountain Rose Metallic cardstock, so I used that as my main background. It has such a beautiful shimmer. I decided that I wanted to add a graphic element, so I used the fantastic Circles and Pluses stencil from Studio Light with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink. even though it is very different from the Lawn Fawn Plaid paper, I think it ties in together nicely. I also used the sentiments that were included in the Believe in Yourself stamp set, and I added a few extra sequins outside of the shaker. And that's my card!

Have you seen our January "Love Story" Subscription Kit? There are only a few left in stock, so don't miss out on a chance to own your own bit of Festive Winter Elegance. But did you know that with each of our kits, there is always an Kit Add-On section of the Store that compliments your Monthly Subscription Kit? And did you know you can get anything in that January Kit Add-On section for 10% off using the code Add-Ons 10!!! Your next stop on the hop is Anna-Marie. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy hopping!

The Jackalope has always been one of my favorite stamps. There is something just so sweet about it. I think it pared nicely with the shaker bits and the stenciled banner. Such a fun card!
Love your shaker card, its so pretty!
That is so sweet and I love shakers. That jackolope brings back great memories to me for when we used to see them all over the place in our neck of the woods....not real ones but fake ones that were made to look real hanging on the walls like one would do a trophy hunt image.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
