Quick Holiday Cards in Plum

Hello! As I mentioned last month, I have never really been too interested in subscription kits for card making, until now. I am hooked on the products in White Rose Crafts' December Kit. I broke my cards down into color families, and today I am sharing two cards that use mostly shades of plum.

Everything you see on these 2 cards is included in the kit except for my plain cardstock. I let the pictures from the ScrapBerry "Elegantly Festive Toppers" guide the direction of my cards. I love the high contrast of the cookies and table in this first card, so I used high contrast colors for the rest of the card.

I also used one of the stickers from the accompanying Kaisercraft "Christmas Jewel" stickers for my sentiment. I also added 3 sequins from the "Very Merry" Sparkle Blend.

I approached this card in a similar fashion, but with tearing a few extra edges and adding some white Mulberry Lace Paper. No sparkle on this one, because I didn't think it needed it.

At this very busy time of year, it's great to be able to make quick, easy-to-duplicate cards. As much as I enjoy stamping, it can be time consuming. SBS and MIC Collaboration: Day 2!

Echo Park Blog Hop with Imagine

Greetings! This is my second post for the day. This one is not part of the 31 Days of Halloween, but rather a super-duper blog hop that the Artists in Residence for Imagine are doing with Echo Park . So if you're here for my Day 7 project, please check out the post HERE . But before you do that, scroll on to check out this one. There are prizes up for grabs, so be sure to check out the Imagine Blog as well as the Echo Park Blogs for details. I created my background by applying Dandelion and Tangelo Memento Ink to my brayer. Then I sprayed it with Ink Potion No. 9 to help the colors blend and to act as an extender to keep the inks wet longer. After I rolled the colors out on to watercolor paper and let it dry, I stamped the lovely doily-like image from Echo Park's Simply Sweet Stamp Set with Grape Jelly Memento.
