Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Hello! It's time for a White Rose Crafts Blog Hop. This month, we are celebrating Winter Wonder. We will be creating inspiration projects featuring snowflakes, snowmen, ice, winter critters, skating, sledding and everything else that goes along with this cold and beautiful season. In addition to the incredibly talented WRC design team, we are also very excited to be collaborating with several members of the Doodles Paper Playground team. I am please to be a part of both teams. We invite you to hop along with us, and be sure to leave a comment on every leg of the hop! We will be giving away prizes and offering a Blog Candy Discount Code, so be sure to visit every stop on the hop for more chances to win! All of the prize details are at the bottom of my post. Now, let's take a look at my project.

My card uses lots of products from the White Rose Crafts December Subscription Kit. The only items I used that are not from the kit, is my blue and white cardstock, and Memento Ink in Sweet Plum. This kit is truly chock full of wonderful products that are sure to inspire. I love the non-traditional colors, and the overall Wintry feel. I chose to work with one of the images from ScrapBerry's Elegant Toppers, the ice skates specifically. I decided to make my shaker on top of the skates. The Sparkle Blend that comes exclusively in the kit is called "Very Merry," and I was sure to chose colors that really brought out the ones in the Blend.

You can see in the photo above some of the wonderful colors and sequins in the Very Merry SParkle Blend. I love the little trees! Behind the skates, I used a piece of plum snowflake paper, which is also from ScrapBerry.

I stamped my sentiment in Sweet Plum Memento ink, and I also distressed my light blue cardstock with the same color. I felt the cardstock was too stark without a little extra something. It also worked really well with the distressed image of the ice skates.

That's my completed card! I hope I have given you some ideas on what to do with the kit, if you choose to get one for yourself (which I highly recommend!). Below is the full hop list, as well as the prize info. Please be sure to stop by all the blogs listed and leave everyone some love. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
