Intro to the WRC December Kit

Hello! Today is my first post that will be highlighting the December Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts LLC. I am not one that is usually interested in subscription boxes. I usually like to just choose my own products and combinations, but I have to say, it was so refreshing to have someone else do the work for me for once! Everything coordinates so beautifully, I love the colors, and the products are wonderful to work with. I was able to put together multiple cards very quickly, so I decided that for each of my posts this month that feature this Subscription Box, I will share at least 2 projects. Today, I am highlighting 2 cards that are predominantly teal.

My first card came together very quickly. I started off with the turquoise card base that comes in the kit (with an envelope!). Then I chose my focal image which is from ScrapBerry's Elegantly Festive Toppers. I paired it with one of their 6" x 6" papers that's a rich plum color.

For an additional layer, I cut a piece of Lace Paper (I am obsessed with the stuff!). It softens the whole look of the card and adds a dreamy feel. I felt that the card needed a bit of sparkle, so I added a few sequins from the exclusive Sparkle Blend called Very Merry. You can only get this blend in this kit! I adhered them with On Point Glue from Imagine. My adhesives and 1 card base are the only thing that I used on these cards that wasn't included in the kit.

For my second card, I fell in love with this tree scene, also from the ScrapBerry Elegantly Festive Toppers. I cut it out, then chose a teal stripe paper, as well as the GORGEOUS Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock. For a sentiment, I chose one of the many Kaiser Craft sentiment stickers and a sweet snowflake button (I clipped the back off with scissors). I adhered the button with a dollop of On Point Glue as well, and it worked perfectly. I love that I can bang out a bunch of cards fast, and they still look great!

How would you like to see what else is inside the White Rose Crafts December Subscription Box? I did a Facebook Live to show my unboxing of the kit. You can check it out below. Keep in mind, YouTube doesn't show the FB comments, so if some of what I say doesn't make sense, it's because you can't see the comments! Feel free to visit my FB page to see them.

So that's it for me today. I hope you enjoyed these first 2 cards. I will be back soon with more from this fabulous kit. And if you would like to pre-order yours now, please head on over to THIS LINK to get yours! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
