How cute are these partying pups?! I just had to use them. I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then I fussy cut them out. I wanted something really vibrant and dimensional for my background, so I decided to use Radiant Neon Amplify! from Imagine. If you haven't worked with this amazing stuff before, you've just got to try it!

I pulled out a big background stencil from Stampendous (this one is the Waves and Dots Metal Stencil) and taped it to my paper and work surface. Then I squeezed lots of colors all over the stencil as you can see above. Next, using my Paste Spreader, I spread the color across the surface of the stencil. A few areas didn't get filled in, so I used my finger to spread extra color into the empty areas. I didn't want the colors to mix too much. After that, I removed my stencil, cleaned it and heated the Amplify! with my heat tool. And that's when the fun begins! You know how every time you use embossing powder, it's fun to watch it melt? This is the same idea, except the Amplify! puffs up! Check it out:

It's sorta like the puffy paint for decorating shirts in the 80's. And don't those colors look great with the colors for these party animals? I used some foam squares to pop them up off of the surface. My card base is yellow, but it needed some shine, so I used 2 Fireworks! Sprays, also from Imagine. Now the base has a splattered shimmer to it. I also die cut my sentiment twice to get a layered look. It's an old QuickKutz die set, and I added some Wink of Stella to the dark teal layer for a little more sparkle.

Here you can see them dimension and shimmer from all of the different elements. It really does look like a party on a card, right? So, if you've made it this far though my post, congratulations and thank you! Please click on the 3 little bars in the top right corner (next to "search") to follow my blog, and find me on other social media platforms. Also, I am giving away a $5 credit to Tiddly Inks to one very lucky person that leaves me a comment. Please be kind, and leave me some love below for your chance to win. And then check out the rest of the hoppers in the link list below. Thank you so much for stopping by. And a HUGE thank you to Christy Croll for sharing her wonderful images with all of us, and for putting this fabulous hop together. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

Two Huge Valentine’s Day Hops!

I am in not one, but two Valentine’s Day hops! Not bad for someone that doesn’t even like Valentine’s Day… The first is via Smeared & Smudged . It’s time for our monthly Member Blog Hop! The second was started by Taylor Usry . Please bear with me…this post is long because I am sharing 2 projects and the hop lists are huge. Let’s stat with Smeared & Smudged, shall we? My dear friend Alex and I collaborated on the theme for this month’s S&S Member Hop. Instead of making it a free-for –all, we decided to challenge our members a little…create something Valentine’s Day / love themed, but there is a catch.  Because we are Smeared and Smudged you can not use any of the following: No hearts No red or pink Nothing ‘cute’ unless you make it uncute of course :) Ok, so it’s not dark and scary…but it’s definitely not cute either. I used my colored pencils for the focal image.  It’s from Smeared Ink’s Smitten collection. The “pretty fly” is from the teir teen...
