Spring Fling Sparkle Blend

Hello! I've got a shaker card to share with you today that features one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground . It's called Spring Fling and it's got shades of purple, yellow, pink, a little blue, and opalescent bits in it. It's a lovely mix of sizes too! This card was made for one of my daughter's teachers, so I decided to color this Always the Flower Girl from Tiddly Inks to look like my little girl. Because I printed the  Tiddly Inks image about 3 1/2" tall, I knew I wanted a single shaker that was large enough to stand out. I used a square Fitted Frame from Stampendous, because the simple yet fun shape is perfect for pretty much everything. I backed the shaker with a pale yellow patterned paper, since I like to add an additional pattern wherever I can. It has just  subtle splotches, but it has more interest than just plain yellow. I colored Always the Flower Girl with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers. My daughter would absolutely w...

Alison the Witch from Tiddly Inks

Greetings! Today I am sharing a project with you that features Alison the Witch from Tiddly Inks . She is my favorite image from Tiddly Inks (though I LOVE so many!). Why? Well, you may have read this story before, but this particular image was actually made for me by Christy Croll, owner and artist of Tiddly Inks. I won a contest several years ago, and I got to give Christy some design cues on what I wanted the image to look like. And this image is just perfect! I use her whenever I can. I colored Alison with my Zig Clean color markers, using some of my favorite colors. She was stamped on to Canson Mixed Media Paper, which is my favorite to use with these markers. I had plans on adding all sorts of layers and embellishments for this card, but as I was making it, my direction totally changed. That's one of the fun things about creating things though, right? Seeing how your original idea morphs into a new one? Love that. So you'll notice that this photo is a little d...

Day 29 of 31: I'm Bewitched!

Greetings Bloggy Friends! It's Day 29 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. It's also my 11 Year Anniversary! So I love this day. I also have one of my favorite projects that I've made all month to share with you. A few weeks ago I won Zombie and Her Kitty from Saturated Canary , and I was so excited to color her up. She was a blast! I colored her using the Indirect Coloring technique with my Tombow markers. I know I have been yapping about this technique a whole lot this month, but the effect is just great, and it's fun to do! I colored her to look as though she was morphing. After I colored her, I used a Spellbinders die to cut her out, and then I heat embossed the edges with Aged Copper Embossing Powder (from the Bronze Encrusted Jewels Kit ), and I added some sparkle with  Mahogany and Burgundy glitter  right on top of the embossing powder before I heated it.. These 3 things are of course from Stampendous . My background was done with th...

Day 20 of 31: Buggaboo Goth Girl

Greetings! It's Day 20 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I have a card that features Goth Girl from Buggaboo . I colored her with my Tombow watercolor makers, direct to paper. My sentiment is from Tiddly Inks . My background has the Spider Web stencil from Dreamweaver on the lavender side, and just some excess spray from the negative of a different stencil I was using for a different project. Never waste any of your spray! Always rub or press it on to some scrap paper. You will totally be able to use it later. I added a little washi tape for an additional pattern. There you have it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a fang-tastic day!

Toile and a Kitty: Day 6 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Hello! It's time for Day 6 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! Today I have a card that came together pretty quickly. I started off with a Tim Holtz cat stamp that I got in my prize pack from last year's 31 Days. Then, I found a cool stamp I had forgotten about. A toile stamp that has been creepified. So there's witches, skulls, tombstones. I tell ya, if I found this in fabric form, I would totally be making some new curtains! Or a skirt...or something. If you click on the photo to see it bigger, you'll see all of the little details. This stamp is from Recollections, which is Michaels' brand. My background paper is from K & Company, I love the leaves on it. My sentiment is from Tiddly Inks.  I almost forgot about my washi tape! Also from Recollections. Love those crows. I hope you've liked my piece for today. I hope to have some non paper crafts up soon. If time allows it! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, a...

Too Cute to Spook: Day 4 of 31 Days of Halloween

I have a kind of cute card for today. Don't worry, tomorrow will be creepier. I promise. I used an image from Dilly Beans . Love this little monster! I colored him with watercolors. Same with my pumpkin punch. And my sentiment is from Tiddly Inks . My background was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Dreamweaver Stencils is now starting to create embossing folders, but as of right now they only have Christmas folders, so I thought it'd be ok to use this one here. I'll be dual posting tomorrow, as I'll have another project over at the Dreamweaver Stencils blog. So I'll see ya on the flip side! Thanks for stopping by. Have a creeptastic day!

Day 23 of 31: Happy Spook-a-Ween with Tiddly Inks

Welcome back! It is Day 23 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Today, I have a clean and simple (CAS) card to share. Something that is rather difficult for me to make. But, it's good to challenge yourself! I used the Too Cute to Spook clear stamp set by Tiddly Inks . I colored her up with my Spectrum Noir markers. My daughter wants to be a witch for Halloween, so I think I will give this card to her on the Big Day. I like the little frog peeking out from the brim of her hat. The sentiment is from the same set, and I stenciled the stars on with a Heidi Swapp stencil using Peeled Paint Distress Ink. It was so hard not to add a bajillion stars, and lots of patterned paper. But, I like it like this. So it is now time for you to keep hopping! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my sidebar.. Thanks for stopping by. Have an spook-tacular day! *I am entering my card in the Tiddly Inks Creepy Cute Challenge.

Day 5 of 31: Tiddly Inks

Hello! It's Day 5 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. Have you been enjoying what the awesome Wicked Bloggers have been concocting so far? I know I have! I wish I had more time to hop, but I am trying to visit as many of you as I can. Today I made a 6x6 mini-page featuring Batty from Tiddly Inks . For my layout, I used Deconstructed Sketch #121. I haven't played along there forever, and I always like Jen's sketches. Also, the latest Tiddly Inks challenge is Anything Goes, so I will be participating there as well. I colored Batty with my Spectrum Noir markers. I am going to enter this into their monthly challenge as well, which is to use the color orange. The stars were made with a Heidi Swapp plastic stencil. So there you have it. I am hoping that I will have time to make some 3D pieces like Mo or Lisa this month. Fingers crossed! Please be sure to visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers. They are all posted in my sidebar. There are prizes to b...

Ribbons and Color

Hello! It's Friday so I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. Plus, it's the 20th (where did this month go???), so I have a new Chromatic Craze challenge as well. The Dilly Beans theme this week is ribbons. Here's what I made. I made this bookmark for my little girl. She is trying really hard to learn to read. She's 4 1/2. And I knew she would love that crinkly pink and purple ribbon. She was so excited when I gave it to her, and she has been going through lots of books, and using her bookmark for all of them. I colored this sweet turtle with water colors. The turtle has a similar look to the watercolor-y look for the ribbon. Now on to Chromatic Craze. This month, the colors are white, buttercream, periwinkle and salmon. To see them, please visit the CC Blog . Here's what I made. I made an ATC to go along with this week's Wicked Wednesday challenge, which is Crazy for Daisies.  I've had that sweet little daisy stamp for a wh...

Witch Alison: By Tiddly Inks!

*To see the newest Simply Betty Stamps Challenge, and the last of the Sweet Gotick Kids Christmas preview, please scroll down to the next post. Thank you! A few weeks ago, I was uber lucky to win a custom drawn did by Christy Croll from Tiddly Inks ! It took me a while to figure out what I wanted (thank goodness for Christy’s patience!) but we finally worked it out to be a witch (no big surprise, right?) with a crow as her familiar. I chose a crow for a whole lot of reasons, and I thought he would make the perfect companion for my little witch. I must tell you, that I ADORE the way she came out! And I love that it was a collaboration of sorts. It was truly wonderful, and I am honored to introduce you now to “Witch Alison!” Seriously, isn’t she awesome?!? Don’t you want her for yourself??? Fingers crossed (and perhaps a kind email or two) that Christy will release her in the Fall! This first version (of many, many more to come!) was done entirely with markers. All watercolors sans ...
