Heaven Seems a Little Closer at the Beach

Hello! All week long, the Stampendous team has been sharing projects featuring sea-inspired projects. The card I'm sharing today is one of my favorites that I did for the April catalog. I have a love for hibiscus flowers (especially in the coloration I did here), and I had a lot of fun playing with colors, textures, and products.

Supplies:
Stampendous:
CRW171: Hibiscus Conch
DWLJ808: Cathedral Windows Large
DWDGWP: Glossy White Embossing Paste
SSC1246: Ocean Wisdom
DCP1005: Fitted Frames Set A
EK22: Beach Embossing Powder Kit
DWDPK: Palette Knife
Acrylic Stamp HandleVM001: VersaMark Watermark Ink PadDP111: Detail Black Embossing Powder

Others:
My Colors Cardstock: Poolside, Sweet Potato, Sky
Memories Mist: Pink Lemonade
Imagine Crafts: Summer Sky Memento Ink, Electric Orange Radiant Neon Ink
Beacon Adhesives: Zip Dry Glue
Artist's Loft: Watercolor Paints, Watercolor Paper
EK Success: Medium Corner Rounder

Directions:
1. Lay Cathedral Windows Large on to a piece of watercolor paper and spray Pink Lemonade Memories Mist on to it, and go for full coverage. Carefully lift the stencil and flip on to a fresh piece of watercolor paper and press to get the reverse image. Set aside the first piece for another project, and let the 2nd piece dry for this project.

2. When the reverse image has dried, tape the Cathedral Windows Large stencil on to it, being careful to line up the design. Apply Glossy White Embossing Paste on to the stencil using the Palette Knife. Remove (and clean) stencil, let dry and trim down the image. Round the corners.

3. Stamp out the Conch and Hibiscus stamp on to watercolor paper with VersaMark, and emboss with Detail Black powder. Paint with watercolors. Let dry, and then trim, leaving a small border of paper around the image. Ink edges with Summer Sky Memento Ink.

4. Tear a mat of Poolside cardstock to go under the stenciled layer. Sprinkle Golden Sand embossing powder (from the Beach Embossing Powder Kit) around the edges and heat set.

5. Create the card base out of Sweet Potato cardstock to 6 1/2" x 10." Sprinkle Sky Blue embossing powder (also from the Beach Kit) around the edges.

6. Cut a piece of Sky cardstock with the small letter "L" Fitted Frame. Stamp with sentiment from the Ocean Wisdom set, and heat emboss with Detail Black. Ink the edges with Electric Orange ink.

7. Attach all layers with Zip Dry glue.

Below are the rest of the folks posting along with me today. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Love is Love with Nathalie Kalbach and Friends

The Stampendous team is showcasing the fabulous stamps and stencils from Nathalie Kalbach this week, and some of Nathalie's friends have been joining us. There are 3 prize packaages up for grabs, and anyone can win! Visit the Stampendous Blog for full details. I have been thinking a lot about the recent tragedy to the LGBT community in Orlando, and I decided to use Nathalie's Urban Scribble set for today's project. I started off with the foam stamp (the blank side) and colored a rainbow on it using my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I sprayed the foam stamp with a little water to re-wet the colors, and get some nice splotches. I applied the stamp, then I went back with the detail stamp and inked it up with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, using the stencil that comes in the Urban Scribble set, plus the Picasso tool, I stenciled some pixelated clouds in the background. I hand wrote "Love is Love." I decided to not make this a card..but rather some
