Shepherd Watch: Chameleon Pen Collaboration

I am really excited to share my Stampendous! and Dreamweaver creations with you this week! We are doing a collaboration with Chameleon Pens, and we are showing off some of the wonderful techniques you can do with these unique pens. Did you know that we feature Chameleon Pens throughout our July catalog? Almost all of the samples in it feature these markers!

Chameleon™ Art Products is a company determined to change the way you think about marker pens. They pride themselves on having developed real innovation that enhances your ability to maximize your creativity. Their markers bring color control and simplicity to your art, and you can create stunning 3D effects, smooth transitions, highlights, and shading gradations all with one pen.
When you combine this simple coloring versatility with Stampendous® and House-Mouse Designs® images, you can create fantastic projects quickly. Stampendous stamps are beautifully enhanced by the simple blending made possible with this range of innovative markers. The colorless blending tool acts as a "foolproof" finish for your project. You won't believe the stunning range of colors that can be achieved with these markers, and the array of original projects you can create with the combination of Stampendous and Chameleon.

Instructions:

  1. I stamped the Shepherd Watch image on to Mixed Media White Paper, and then colored the image with the Chameleon Pens listed in the supplies. I tried to really showcase the color change factor of the Chameleon pens in the sand. I repeated the color change over and over again to give the sand depth. Once the image was colored, I cut the cardstock down, and rounded the corners.
  2. Next, I cut olive green cardstock to 5" x 6 1/2" to create her card base.
  3. I then took cream cardstock and inked the Quatrefoil stencil with Chestnut Roan ink directly from the pad. I trimmed the piece down and rounded the corners.
  4. Then, navy blue cardstock was cut to fit as a mat around the Shepherd image.
  5. Two coordinating pieces of May Arts ribbon was then cut to fit around the stenciled piece of cardstock, and they were glued down. Then, the cream cardstock was glued to the card base.
  6. The navy and stamped image layers were attached to each other next, and then adhered to the card with pop up dots.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
