Faber-Castell Collaboration with Stampendous!

Greetings! This week, the Stampendous team gets to play with lots of wonderful Faber-Castell products. We are showcasing the Art Grip Aquarelles Watercolor Pencils. PITT pens and Pastel Pencils, and our very special guest Nathalie Kalbach will be sharing projects with Gelatos. We are really "Bloging in Color" this week! In addition, it's Dreamweaver Thursday, so you are going to see some wonderful stenciled projects today!

I started off with the Chunky Art Tools stencil, watercolor paper, and the "S" tipped black PITT pen and I drew in all of the tools. Then, keeping my stencil taped in place, I started to play with the Art Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils. Man, I love these pencils! The colors are beautiful, they color up great, and when you add the water....pure magic! Love them!

By leaving my stencil in place, it kept me from coloring outside the lines. Which, is not something I usually mind, but I wanted to keep this image nice and clean. The only 2 spots that I didn't use the Aquarelles, was the tip of the brush (I used PITT pens), and the tip of the pencil (I used PITT Pastel Pencils). After everything was colored, I removed the stencil, and used the included brush that comes with the watercolor pencils (great brush, by the way...and I love that it comes with the pencils!) to start painting. A little water goes a long way, and again, the pencils blend beautifully. I went for a few different textures and finishes on the chunky tools. You can really do so much with these pencils.

Then I used the appropriate art tools to add the drawn/painted lines. I added the little "Make Art" from the "Charmed Art" Stampendous set. I rounded the corners, and added a mat of purple cardstock. I then decided it was time to stop. I was planning on making a card, but I decided that I am just going to frame it and hang it in my craft room instead. Because really, no matter what mediums I use, I love to just make art! Please be sure to visit the lovely ladies listed below. You are sure to love their creations. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll have another post for this fantastic collaboration tomorrow. Have an inspiring day!

this is a fun piece.
Was a good idea to leave the stencil on while coloring.
I'm not good at staying in the lines so I'll have to remember that.
thanks for sharing a cute card.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
