Birthday Wishes with Dreamweaver

Welcome to the birth of a new year...2015 to be precise! In honor of that, we've decided that our monthly challenge for January will be Birthday Wishes. We'd love for you to play along with us, and link your creations to the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice...and remember, using Dreamweaver products gets you bonus points towards an extra stencil!

Here's my birthday project for this week:

Ok, so it's a little snarky....but sometimes we need to have a sense of humor when it comes to birthdays. right?

I started off by using the the Crows stencil. I simple inked it with a small stencil brush. Then, I took a very juicy embossing dauber and stenciled the Rain. I didn't want perfect drops, so I overdid it when I applied the embossing ink. Then I used a clear embossing powder on top and heated it up.

I added my sentiments before I put my rain drops. They say, "happy birthday. you're old." They're from Smeared Ink's Occasions Grumpies set.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelliā€™s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next ā€œTarot Card.ā€ Haha! Thatā€™s actually pretty funny! If youā€™ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. Iā€™ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Donā€™t worryā€¦itā€™s actually a joyful imageā€¦one that I intend to use a lot! First, hereā€™s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...
