21st Century Pillow Book

Greetings! It's Friday, and I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. This week's theme is Winter. Dilly Beans has a ton of fabulous Winter-themed images, so it certainly shouldn' bbe hard for you to play along. Here's my card. I tried something I have done only once or twice before. Paper Piecing. I'm not very good at it, apparently. I like the papers I used...but I had to go over some spots with black marker, and it screwed the lins up a bit. I just wanted to be like my fellow Dilly Beaner... Jenn . I will try it again, but I'll let her tackle the more complicated stuff! :) The parts that I actually did color were done with my various brands of markers. The pattern on the paper are subtle, but you can see them nicely here. I made the card on kraft cardstock, but I sprayed the heck out of it with Glimmer Mist, so it doesn't look very "krafty" at all anymore. Once again, this month has totally flown by for me. Guess that's how it will always be from now on! For my card today, I have a Stampotique image, dressed up with a Bombshell Stamps Santa hat, a Background stamp by Smeared Ink, and a sentiment from Inkadinkado. I just love his huge bow tie! I colored him with watercolor markers, and Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. I really lik coloring these creepy Stampotique images. I am so happy I finally have some in my collection. Holy cow...I am just coming in under the wire at this point. It's almost noon here! As I have mentioned, these past two weeks have been insane. And I can't seem to have a moment to get it all done! Today's project isn't at all creepy...and luckily, I had it colored who knows when! But, the image is from Kenny K ..and we Smeared & Smudgers all like Kenny K, right? I colored her with pencils and a few watercolor markers. I think she's super sassy! I literally threw this card together with scraps that were already cut. Hey, at least I'm dedicated, right? Greetings! It's time for my newest project for the Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! We are quickly reaching the end of this fun ride, and the time has gone SO fast! Having both of my kids Birthdays in December really makes it hard for me to keep up with everything! For this card, I used my beloved Bombshell Stamps . This card is super glittery! I used Girl's Ruin and Holiday Accessory  for this card. Don'tcha just lover her Santa hat? Seriously, where I can I get these shoes in my size? If you haven't noticed, I changed the sentiment a bit.... It now says "All I really want.....is you shoes!" I think I may add a few rhinestones or black pearls to this....I kinda ran out of time! Welcome to the 9th day of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! Today, I have a tag I've made. I used a Smeared Ink image that I recently got...I had wanted it for a while. I love bats, so I was really stoked to get this guy. Perfect image for Creepmas! I used watercolors to color the image in. Here's a closer look. I also watercolored the background of my tag. Then I took a Glimmer Screen from Tattered Angels and painted over it with white acrylic paint. I stamped my sentiment with my Just Rite alpha stamper. And I added some sparkly, chunky yarn...that kinda looks like dreadlocks. This was a fun tag. I really enjoyed making the background. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers. Hello! It's the 15th, so that means it's time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge , plus it's Day 8 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. Greetings! I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you today. This week, we are challenging you to use non-traditional colors for Christmas. Think hot pink, purple, lime green, and turquoise. Heres my creation. The image is Snowmen Frame #516. Aren't they cute? I made this card for my sister for her Birthday, which was last month (yes, I gave it to her on time). She loves snowmen, so as soon as I got this image, I knew I needed to use it for her. I colored these guys with watercolors. I really enjoyed painting them. I used some fabulous Ice Stickles and a great big bow. So? Are you up for the challenge? I think you are! So get going! It's Day 7 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. My card today isn't creepy at all, but it is rather snarky. And we love snarky over at S&S, don't we? I got the image from Bugaboo. It's been in my arsenal for a while now, but I thought this was the perfect time to use it. I know a few people that deserve this card. I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers and Copics. Unfortunately, you can't see any of the shading I did behind her. Sometimes my Ott light is just too damn bright. Anyone else have that problem? Things just get washed out sometimes. Hello! It's Day 6 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. I made another card for it. I am also sharing a project that I made for a couple of challenges. Let's start with Creepmas. But I tell you...the creep factor for this card is going to vary depending on who is looking at it. Have you every been outside at dusk, when it's recently snowed? It's soooooo quiet. And the landscape looks so very different with all that snow. Then, you hear a rustle coming from somewhere. And you see a bright splotch of red against a white and black backdrop. It's a lone cardinal in a birch tree. Not too creepy right? Except for that instant when you didn't know what made the rustling sound....... I made this card for a friend of  mine. She posted a photo very similar to this one on my Facebook wall. Hello! It's Day 5 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. Today, I have a card featuring a Dilly Beans image. It's "Disturbed Snowman #276." I love this guy! Isn't he great? As crazy as he looks, he has a huge heart. I made this a very simple card...using only 3 strips of paper and an Inkadinkado sentiment. I colored the snowman using watercolors. And I inked around the edges of him and the card itself using Distress Inks. I used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs. I hoe you like my simple little card! I combined both of these topics into one project. I used #256: Framed Zombie Cupid for this card. I love her. She's so creepy sweet. Today, I got told by a man, dressed in a very nice suit, who was about 60, that he liked my "coif." I laughed to myself after he complimented me. Then I thought about it some more....my how times have changed.... I have been coloring my hair in shades that don't normally grow on heads for about 15 years. And let me just say, I should NOT be old enough to be doing anything for 15 years! Right? Well, anyway... I've done almost every color you can imagine. Red, purple, lime green, hot ass pink....I've only steered away from yellow and orange, as those would  not  be good looks for me. And in that time, I've had people (pretty much always adults) shout assorted nasty comments to me. "Hey! It's not Halloween!" or "Did you get attacked by a Smurf?" Welcome to Day 3 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! Today I have a card that uses Creepmas Girl from Rick St. Dennis . She told me her sad tale....but take a look at the card first. This poor girl worked on a Christmas Tree farm. But all the tress died because of a drought. Creepmas girl....well...she went a little crazy... She is always trying to save these poor, dead, brown trees. Look! She has even decorated one! She just wants people to think her trees are beautiful. But, well...you see what they look like, right??? Not exactly ideal Christmas Trees. Ok...so maybe I've lost my mind. Or perhaps I just need to get some more sleep............... I colored her with watercolor markers, Spectrum Noirs and Copics. Hello! I have 2 holiday projects today. One is for Bombshell Stamps ' Muse Monday, and the other is for the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. First, I am going to tell you about the December Muse Monday. What's Muse Monday, you ask? Well, each month I pick a stamp set that I want the Design Team to work with. Each Monday of the month, different Design Team members show off that set in their own unique style. Our goal is to give you some fresh ideas, and to inspire you to use these sets as well! This month, I went with  Pin-Stripes . I adore this set. I use it pretty frequently. It's a glitter-iffic ornament! The ornament started as a clear, plastic cube. I coated the inside with floor wax, and then a coat of clear glitter. Next I inked up my stamps using a glue pad, and stamped the left image. Added the glitter. Stamped the right image. More with the glitter. Then I did the center, and I bet you can figure out what I did next....more glitter! I added a pretty t
