Day 2 of 31 Days of Halloween!

Greetings! It's Day 2 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! How did you enjoy yesterday? I loved it. If you have no idea what I am writing about, please visit Terra's Blog for all the deets. I wish I had time to comment on everyone's blog every single day. I will try to visit and leave love with as many as I can per day. But on to today's project. As you may know, I recently became the newest member of the Dilly Beans Design Team. And it has been such a fun team to be on! I LOVE Megan's amazing images. And SO many of them are just perfect for the 31 Days of Halloween. You will be seeing quite a few things from this company this month...and they are one of our sponsors! Here's my project.

This is Teeghan ans her little spider friend. Normally, I shy away from spiders...ok...more like run away screaming...but this little guy is so cute!

I LOVED coloring this image. I started off with my watercolor markers and Copics, for Teeghan and her friend. Then I used actual watercolors for the background. This little image has awoken quite a monster inside me...I must have painted about 10 images in the past week now! Wait until you see them! After I did the watercoloring, I used Orange Stickles (which is on top of an orange Copic), so she is uber glittery. And fabulous.

For the card itself, more watercoloring...but scribbly! I added a small piece of corrugated cardboard that I inked, and my sentiment is (from Inkadinkado) was stamped on to a transparency and stapled. I wanted the sentiment to overlap the corrugated cardboard, but I knew it would never stamp right on it. Hence the transparency.

I hope you have enjoyed my project for today. I have to say, this is one of those that turned out better than I expected, and I love it. Now it's off to the rest of the Wicked Bloggers for you! Everyone (all 37 of us) ae listed in my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

EEEEWWWWWW..it's a spider...a very cute spider!! Love how this piece just POPS out at you.

I have a confession. I am fascinated with spider webs. Don't want to actually deal with the spider but I love how the webs glimmer in the sunshine with the ones that seem to appear daily in our garden.

Happy Hauntings ^_^

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
