Wickidz Preview with the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls!

I have something very special for you today! It's a preview for the new Simply B Stamps Collection, the Wickidz. Which I am proud to say that I came up with their title! The Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls will be working with the darker side of SBS. So the creepier images, the darker stuff, will be released through us. There are 6 new images. We Dolls are previewing 3 today, and then 3 more tomorrow for release day, along with a collection of sentiments! Today, I am previewing Malice and Petunia for you. Let's start with Malice.

Isn't she creepy? All of the Wickidz have really cool backgrounds. It's fun to color them in! Featured with Malice is one of the new sentiments that will be available for purchase starting tomorrow.

I used watercolor markers and Copics for both Malice and Petunia. I did Malice's hair a wee bit differently from what I normally do. I used a pale blue in her hair  instead of a light gray. I thought it would look cool with her blue dress.

I mimicked the bricks in the background of the digi with my EK Success fence punch and a brick colored Copic. I really like how it turned out! And now, here is Petunia!

I made an entry in my art journal. How do you like my sentiment? Betty liked it so much, that she made it one of the sentiments in the coordinating collection. I'm telling you, you will use these sentis all the time! So make sure you snag 'em!

I did Petunia's hair a little different as well. Just a lot of swirls, curls, and layering. I think it's wild...like her! I love her background...and can I just say that I want her pentagram rug?!

The stamped sentiments you see are from Smeared Ink. And the fence (I'm sensing a trend here...) is a Tattered Angels screen. I inked it with Distress Ink.

All of the images and sentiments will be available for purchase tomorrow! They will be available only in digi form, which I know will make many of you very happy. Couldn't you just see these images blown up really big? I know I can!

So, how would you like to win one of these Wickidz for yourself? One lucky commentor will win the Malice digi! Be sure to visit every blog, because you won't know who's blog has the prize! I will announce the winner tomorrow. So hop on over to the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created. Don't forget to show everyone some love!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
