Day 9 of 12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to the 9th day of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! Today, I have a tag I've made. I used a Smeared Ink image that I recently got...I had wanted it for a while. I love bats, so I was really stoked to get this guy. Perfect image for Creepmas! I used watercolors to color the image in. Here's a closer look. I also watercolored the background of my tag. Then I took a Glimmer Screen from Tattered Angels and painted over it with white acrylic paint. I stamped my sentiment with my Just Rite alpha stamper. And I added some sparkly, chunky yarn...that kinda looks like dreadlocks. This was a fun tag. I really enjoyed making the background. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers. They are all listed in my sidebar. And now, I need to take a moment for something else. 6 years ago today, I became a Mom. And I couldn't be happier or more proud. My Phoenix is 6 today, and I cannot believe how quickly time has passed. He is totally amazing,...

Day 9 of 31 Days: Chloe Bell

Hello, and welcome to day 9 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! I am sharing a Dilly Beans card with you today. I made it a couple of weeks ago, and I can't bear to let it sit unseen anymore! This is Chloe Belle. Chloe Belle Framed (#454) to be exact. Isn't she adorable? In a creepy kind of way. I think the next time I color her, her skin will be more sallow. This time around, I used watercolor markers and Copics. I loved coloring her because she was fast! I got it done in no time. Don't get me wrong, I love coloring detailed images, but sometimes, you just need to get something done now . And she was perfect for that. The look on Chloe Belle's face reminds me very much of my daughter. Hmmm...maybe I'll color the image to look more like her next time! I sprayed my background with a couple colors of Glimmer Mist, and a web Glimmer Screen. A few pieces of accent paper, that fabulous bow, and this baby was done. This version is uber Hall...

Wickidz Preview with the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls!

I have something very special for you today! It's a preview for the new Simply B Stamps Collection, the Wickidz. Which I am proud to say that I came up with their title!  The Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls will be working with the darker side of SBS . So the creepier images, the darker stuff, will be released through us. There are 6 new images. We Dolls are previewing 3 today, and then 3 more tomorrow for release day, along with a collection of sentiments! Today, I am previewing Malice and Petunia for you. Let's start with Malice. Isn't she creepy? All of the Wickidz have really cool backgrounds. It's fun to color them in! Featured with Malice is one of the new sentiments that will be available for purchase starting tomorrow. I used watercolor markers and Copics for both Malice and Petunia. I did Malice's hair a wee bit differently from what I normally do. I used a pale blue in her hair  instead of a light gray. I thought it would look co...

Simply B Challenges: Spritz, Paint & Mask

Welcome to the newest Simply B Stamps challenge! This one was SO up my alley! I really hope you’ll play along. This month we challenge you to…. SPRITZ, MASK & PAINT We want to see you get out your sprays, mists, masks or paints to make your project!  Let's get messy! Totally fun, right??? My fingers were pretty well inked by the time I finished this card. Just the way I like it! It makes me feel like I’ve really done something cool. And I hope you’ll agree! I used the lovely Romance Grace from the Valentine Steampunk collection (not to bee confused with the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine collection). I colored her with watercolor markers and Copics…then I got inky. I dug out some Glimmer Screens and sprays from Tattered Angels, chalk, ink pads, and Stickles. Plus some pearls and cogs. There are a ton of layers here…I hope you can see the image that I actually put on top of Grace. I used a compass with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist. Subtle, but just what I needed to give t...

Witch Alison: By Tiddly Inks!

*To see the newest Simply Betty Stamps Challenge, and the last of the Sweet Gotick Kids Christmas preview, please scroll down to the next post. Thank you! A few weeks ago, I was uber lucky to win a custom drawn did by Christy Croll from Tiddly Inks ! It took me a while to figure out what I wanted (thank goodness for Christy’s patience!) but we finally worked it out to be a witch (no big surprise, right?) with a crow as her familiar. I chose a crow for a whole lot of reasons, and I thought he would make the perfect companion for my little witch. I must tell you, that I ADORE the way she came out! And I love that it was a collaboration of sorts. It was truly wonderful, and I am honored to introduce you now to “Witch Alison!” Seriously, isn’t she awesome?!? Don’t you want her for yourself??? Fingers crossed (and perhaps a kind email or two) that Christy will release her in the Fall! This first version (of many, many more to come!) was done entirely with markers. All watercolors sans ...

A Very Special Bond

I was very apprehensive to send Phoenix to school this year. I wasn’t really sure if it was necessary….I didn’t want him to be afraid….he’s honestly already really smart… But my husband and I thought it would be good so that he could develop his social skills, where he is lacking a bit. We hoped that his teacher would be kind, gentle and inspirational. Well, Phoenix wound up with a teacher is that is all that and SO much more… It is traditional that the teachers receive photo albums or scrapbooks from their class each year. Well, this year…we kinda went all out. This is one of the pages I had the privilidge of making. We just adore this woman, Mrs. Hellige, so very much. She is the perfect teacher in every way. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. I thought this was such a fabulous picture! Phoenix is just so happy and comfortable with her. I hope they have forged a relationship that will last a very long time…(I think they did!). I used Patina and Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist all ...

Frankenstein Tag: Day 25 of 31 Days of Halloween

I am sharing another tag today. I really enjoy making them. I hope to eventually use this one on a layout. I colored up Frankenstein, from Strange Skin’s Monster Buffs collection (did you know they now have two more famous monster sets???). Check it. I didn’t use any paper on this tag, aside from that which I used to print Frankenstein out. I used some raw cardboard, 3 Glimmer Mists (Jack O Lantern, Haunted Shadows, and Lily Pad), a Glimmer Screen (the spider web), my stitch stamp (Stampers Anonymous), a bit of white and black ink, Amazing Glaze, and some fibers. Oh. There’s an eyelet too. Not a lot of stuff to make a pretty cool tag! Here’s a close up of Frankenstein. He’s colored with my colored pencils. Isn’t he totally creepy? Here I’m trying to show you the lovely Glimmer Mist. If you click on this (or any other) picture), you can see it bigger. You can really see the Amazing Glaze along the edge here. You can see a lot of Glimmer in this shot. I love how the colors always b...

Day 1 of 31 Days of Halloween

It’s here! October is finally here! It is officially my favorite month, and what better way to celebrate it then with the 31 Days of Halloween??? This is going to be the biggest, baddest, creepiest Halloween stamping event on the web (or at least we'd like to think so)! 31 Days of Halloween started last year with two like-minded stampers, Terra and Kelli, (fellow Smeared &Smudgers !)who vowed to make and share one Halloween or Day of The Dead stamped project for each day in October. They had a huge response from others who enjoyed it just as much as they did. So without any further adieu, here is my Day 1 project! This is a layout of my dear Mom at Halloween a couple of years ago. This page was originally going to be simple, with only one stamp on it…but it quickly morphed into something complicated and full of stamps! But the end result is way better then I had anticipated…and isn’t it rad when something like that happens??? This was going to be the only stamp I used…it’s fr...

Artful INKables Twilight Challenge, Week 2

Hello! I only have time for a really quick post today! I of course, had to play along with Week 2 of the Artful INKables Twilight Challenge. This week we needed to use the colors red, black and white, along with their stamps. Easy peasy! I sprayed the heck out of my card with Black Gold, Candy Apple Red, and Silver Glimmer Mist, using a Glimmer Screen. I love how it turned out. Looks better in person, when you can see all the glimmer though! Added the AI “Peace, Love, Vampires” stamp, inked, distressed, and pop dotted. A few black pearls, and voila! I love this stamp. It’s a great sentiment! Can you see the gold glimmer in the big black splotch in the middle? Beautiful! Have an inspiring day!!!
