Growing Love: 1st Version

I have a number of Sweet Pea Stamps on my wish list. I decided that since I had 2 custom scrapbook orders, I could treat myself to a little present. I purchased Aloha and Growing Love. I am currently working on 3 versions of Growing Love, but I wanted to share the 1st completed one with you.

This is truly the most beautiful pregnancy stamp I have ever seen. I have to be honest, I don’t usually like pregnancy images because I find them to be a bit cheesy. This one is pure elegance. She has that dreamy, blissful look on her pretty face, and her swelling belly gives me thoughts of my own pregnancies, which were pure joy. She is only available as a single image.

I made this card using a Sweet Pea sketch for a challenge they are currently running…I didn’t make the top 10 like i had hoped, but that’s ok because I love the way this card turned out.

I used my watercolor markers and pencils for her, and I cropped the image into an oval, which I think really works for this image.

I used a blue Sakura Stardust pen to highlight a few things, you can see the sheen in this photo. You can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger.

The sentiment is also from Sweet Pea, and I think it is perfect for this image.

Today, there are several of my Sweet Pea creations featured on their blog! Click HERE to take a peek. I told you it was going to be a very Sweet Pea Stamps week! I’m really looking forward to showing you my next version of Growing Love. I just need to add a few embellishments and then it will be done. Tomorrow, I will have a new StampInsanity challenge to share with you, so I hope you will join me for that. Have an inspiring day!

I've started to crop images too and it gives the stamp a total different look. Of course the only reason I've started doing it is because most of the time there is a major mistake and the only way to fix it is to cut it out, lol.
This is gorgeous. Love all the embellishment (I have such a hard time adding stuff - ocd )

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
