SISC47: Anything But a Card!

This week’s StampInsanity Challenge is to make anything but a card. Which is great, because it forced me to make a scrapbook page. Not that I need to be “forced” to scrap…but it certainly takes me longer to make a layout then it does for me to make a card. And I am SOOOOO far behind on my scrapbooking, that I really need to get on it! So, I chose an awesome SI Birthday quote, and made a page of my little girl, Rhiannon.

I know, I know…she’s adorable! ;) The quote says, “Today as we celebrate your Birthday, we celebrate the gift of you to the World!” Sweet right? The colors in her shirt are fantastic, and I just got some new paper pads from my Mom, which matched perfectly!

They are from DCWV. Full of sparkle and totally bright and cheery! Just like Rhiannon (well…most of the time she’s cheery.). I used Lily Pad Glimmer Mist on the sentiment, then inked it and embossed it with glitter. If you click on any of the pictures, you can see them bigger.

I used a couple other embellishments… a sticker, a couple scraps of ribbon…I let the photo and sentiment do most of the work for the page. You likey?

Now please go and visit the rest of the Groovy Gurlz!!! I hope you will play along with us this week. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new "Blossom Beauty" face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar. Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
