Another Top 10…I Had To!

Did you see yesterday’s post ? It’s my Top 10 Cards of 2010. But, as I reread the post, I realized that there were a few of my other favorites that I didn’t put up. So…why not just do another Top 10? There was no way that I could go without mentioning these cards… 1. I made this card for my husband. This saucy digi is from Kenny K and I LURVE her!!! Her name is Allura Von D. She rawks! 2. I adore all of the stamps used in this card. Guess how many? 5! All from Smeared Ink . They are from the Quoth the Raven set, minus the Frame which is from the Nymphs set. 3. I just think this one is too funny! This scary-as-Hell Freddy is another digi from the rad Strange Skin . The claw marks are from Smeared Ink . 4. Here’s another awesome Kenny K digi. I think she’s soooo pretty! I used a huge Glimmer Screen and 3 colors of Glimmer Mist for her background. I liked this card so much I made it 3 times! 5. I like this one because it reminds me of old B&W horror films. This is Rio from Simp...

My Top 10 Cards of 2010

Greetings! After kind of avoiding the computer for a few days, I am happy to bring you a mini recap of my Top 10 Fave Cards of 2010. This was started by my bloggy friend, and fellow Groovy Gurl Suzi . If you click on her name you can see all of the fab details of this Top 10 Hop. I have made a LOT of cards this year. To narrow down my favorite 10 is a tough job, because I am honestly proud of so many more then just 10. But…here are my choices, in no order. 1. This may very well be may favorite card of the year…One reason is because it uses my favorite Strange Skin digi…and because Strange Skin is my sister Pam and her boyfriend Jorge’s company! I love this card. 2. Damon Salvatore…do I really need to say much more? This digi is from StampHappens, and I LURVED coloring it in! I watched Vampire Diaries as I was coloring to make sure that I got the high and low lights of his fabulous jacket right! 3. I made this one using a free digi (for newsletter subscribers) from Bombshell Stamps...

Make Merry: Day 12 of S&S 12 Days of Christmas

Sorry for the ultra short post…but you all know what’s going on in my corner of the world. Here is my last offering for the 12 Days. If I can repost w/more info later, I will. Hope you all enjoyed the 12 Days! Fab image by Kenny K! Thank you for all of your kind words!

Day 11 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Christmas: Another Cardinal Card

This will be a short post today…I don’t have the head to type today. My Father in Law passed away yesterday. As many of you know, my Mother in Law passed on Halloween, just a few short weeks ago. Losing her has been hard enough…but to lose both of them know has just sent my head spinning. We are doing our best to cope, but it’s been 4 extremely difficult months for my family. I decided to bring you another Cardinal card today. I thought that it was fitting. And it’s another easy card to make. Hope you like it. The focal images were stamped by repeating the holly leaves and the berries over and over. The single cardinal is sweet, and kind of majestic to me. I loved the gingham paper with these images too. The lighting is pretty crummy…sorry about that…but you get the idea of what it’s looks like, right? I added 4 topaz colored rhinestones to the corners for a little more pop. Now please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. And be sure to c...

Birthday Cards for My Babies!

I wanted to share the Birthday Cards that I made for my kids last week. I think they came out adorable! And I know that Phoenix and Rhiannon  love them. Here’s Rhiannon’s. Back in October, I had one a digi challenge over at Haunted Design House , and I won digis of my choice from Delicious Doodles . Boy, what awesome images they have!!! It was tough to choose, but this one was a no brainer. I LOVE dragons, and I thought that this Momma and Baby (or Daddy and baby) was perfect! I knew I was going to use it for Rhiannon. I colored the image in with my watercolor markers and a hint of colored pencils. I wanted the skin to have texture, so I colored it over and over in long lines. I think it looks cool! And she really liked the baby in the egg. She thought it was funny! I had gotten this stamp a while ago in a swap box with the S&S girls, and as soon as I saw it, I knew Phoenix would love it! How sweet is this robot? He’s colored with my watercolor markers as well....

Happy Little Trees: Day 10 of S&S 12 Days of Christmas

Greetings and salutations! Today I bring you not one, but two cards…both of which are easy-peasy and use those coveted scraps we’ve all been hording. Let’s take a look, shall we? Here is one of my Happy Little Trees. All you do is start with a corner of patterned paper and cut a triangle from that corner…and it’s totally cool if it’s a little wonky! Then, you angle your scissors to cut another straight line, but kind of off kilter. You want to re-angle your scissors with each cut so that you have weird little triangles and trapezoids. Each cut will automatically be longer then the last, so the graduation of the tree size happens on it’s own! You may need to readjust the length and positioning of the “branches”, but it goes together really fast. Adhere them all to a stick of brown, and your tree is ready! I realized after this card was all said and done that I didn’t have a stamp on it, so I quickly added the little “Joy” so that it would count for the S&S 12 Days Challe...

Snowflakes Make Me Smile! Day 9 of the S&S 12 Days of Christmas

4 Years ago today, I became a Mom. My son Phoenix was born at 8:32PM. What an incredible night it was. I cannot believe that he is 4 years old. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I love you, my son!!! I have an super simple card to share today. Don’t we all need that sometimes? Super simple? Even though it’s easy, it’s pretty damn adorable! I used a single stamp (Stamps Happen, Inc.) and colored it in with my colored pencils. Some plaid paper, a touch of black for some punch, and voila! Finished! Isn’t he sweet? I love his patches! I know this is a short post today, but there is a lot going on… So now you can go and check out the rest of the Jolly Bloggers, posted on my sidebar. Have an inspiring day!!!

SISC #39: Happy Holidays!

Today is the 2nd to last StampInsanity Challenge of the year! We will be taking a week off next week, so this week, both Wards are playing along! And this challenge is easy peasy, so I hope you will join in!!! All you have to do, is make a Holiday card! Take a peek at mine! How cute is Morgan here? I love her sassy Santa outfit! I incorporated the StampInsanity challenge with this month’s Smeared & Smudged card Sketch Challenge. Here’s the sketch: As you can see, I rotated it. And I think that Morgan looks perfect as the center of attention here! I colored her in using my watercolor markers and my colored pencils. Don’tcha want her socks for yourself??? Here you can see the sparkle that I added by using my Sakura Star Dust pen. I love her wink! I hope you will play along with both of these challenges!!! But for now, please be sure to check out the Groovy Gurlz from both wards! Have an inspiring day!!! Ward 1 Susan Lynx (Blackdragon) Sugar Chelsea Jane Margie (DTC) Wend...
