I wanted to make a necklace for one of my friends. Sorry, once again, I cannot tell you who as she has not yet received the gift. The last necklace, by the way, (the blue and purple one) was for Donna. She’s got it now and I think I picked out the right colors for her! :}
Anyway, I had a basic color palette in mind… I just needed the beads. I borrowed some from my sis Pam, since I surprisingly didn’t have what I needed. Here’s what I came up with.
The color is slightly off in the photo…not sure why. The colors really look nice together; the have a nice contrast. Here the orange looks a bit brighter than what it is.
For this piece I used Aventurine nuggets, Moss Agate, forest green glass pearls and orange glass beads. The orange beads is what I needed from Pam. I especially love the Moss Agate. The range of colors you can find from this stone is marvelous. Here’s another shot to show what I mean.
See all of the beautiful hues that differ so greatly from one bead to the next? It’s one of my favorite Agates… and I love a lot of them! So, overall, I think it’s a pretty and clean necklace, but the color palette is a bit sophisticated. However, since I find that green (especially this many shades of green) tend to go with everything, so the receiver of this necklace shouldn’t have a hard time coordinating an outfit for it!
