Day 14 of 31 with WW and Alicia Bell

Greetings and welcome to Day 14 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. It's Wednesday, so I have a new Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge to share with you. This week, we are sponsored by Alicia Bell and the theme is, "Witches, Bats, and/or Black Cats." I used Alicia's Berta Barton digi. So allow me to discuss the elephant in the room first. Yup, I jacked up her face at the very last moment. Literally. Just as I was gluing her down. That blasted black line across her face by her mouth. It made me...well...batty. I snapped a couple quick pictures...and then I tried to fix it. Bad, bad idea. I am going to have to preform some serious coloring surgery on her....but frankly, it doesn't look good. But enough about that. I colored her with my Tombow watercolor markers, direct to paper. Then I fussy cut her out For my background, I spritzed an orange Memories Mist and a yellow Dylusions spray. Then, I added some wonderful bats from the Stampendous Spooky...

Day 13 of 31: Hold Me ATC

It's Lucky Day 13 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! I have an ATC to share with you today. If you are a frequent visitor of my blog, you may have seen when I made a whole lot of ATC's for when Vera Lane sponsored Wicked Wednesday . If not, you can check out that post HERE. I have a few more images that I want to add to the little ATC book that I am going to make, so here is one of them. I used the Quirky Zombie. He's part of a set with a zombie girl and a cat. You'll see what I've done with the girl later in the month. He's been colored with my Tombow watercolor markers and then fussy cut.  My sentiment is from the Lil Grumpies set from Smeared Ink. My background was made with a couple of sprays (pink and green), plus I layer one of Stampendous and Andy Skinner's Industrial stamps on top of that in brown. Tomorrow, I will have a new Wicked Wednesday challenge for you. But for now, please visit the rest of the Wicked Bloggers, al...

Day 12 of 31: Wreath

Welcome back! Today I have a non-paper craft. Hooray! I really haven't been able to do much beyond cards this year...and with the remaining month I am going to attempt to squeeze in a few more non-card projects.  I needed a new wreath for my front door, and when I was at Michaels recently, I fell in love with these Nightmare Before Christmas-like swirly stems. I just had to have them, and a wreath was a good place to use them, I thought. How cool are those spirals? They are squishy and totally pose-able. I also found some great black leaves with purple glitter, brown glitter spiky things, and some feathered stems with black glittered spheres. I also found a great styrofoam skull. I chopped off the back of it so it laid on the wreath better. For my stamped piece, I had a little wood tombstone that I painted with shades of gray, then I stamped one of Andy Skinner's Industrial stamps (I used Scratch), and then a couple of Inkadinkado stamps and I heat embossed them. ...

Day 11 of 31: Pop Up Halloween Card

Hello out there! It's already Day 11 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. I have a really fun (albeit not so creepy) card to share with you today. I used some really fun and versatile stamps and dies from Stampendous. Unfortunately, I only have 2 photos, and I no longer have the card, so I couldn't take any more. Here's the front of the card. I used the brooms from the Cling Create Winter set . Yup. Winter. The rest of the set has snowman parts. It's really cute....but the broom is just what I needed for this Halloween card. I used the Create Winter Die set to cut the broom out quickly and easily. I use this set for the inside too.....let's see if you can figure out where! Here's the inside of the card. Isn't it fun? I wish you could see the dimension. Stampendous has this fantastic Pop Up Die set that makes this card possible. Most of the inside elements were stamped with the Cling Create Fall set , and then cut out with the Create ...

Day 10 of 31: Boo with LOC

Hello! So, I have a new card today for Left of Center . I know, I know.....I should have had this up yesterday. But, time got away and I have been working horribly out of order for the month (sometimes inspiration hits and ya just gotta go with it, right?) so I finished this baby up yesterday. I'm sorry to my fellow LOC teamies. So, for Day 10 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween, I bring you this card that features DIY Punk from The East Wind . Our challenge is a sketch created by my bestie Kelli Green. She was super fun to color, and I'd really like to do her in several versions with different color schemes. I colored her direct to paper with my Tombow markers. I used some fun Halloween papers, and sprayed my green cardstock with a purple from Memories Mist. Short post today! I ave a lot of catching up to do. Please be sure to visit the Left of Center Blog, as well as the Wicked Bloggers, all listed in my side bar. Thanks for stopping by, have a fangt...

Day 9 of 31: Black Lace with A Day for Daisies

Hello! I have a new challenge with A Day for Daises today to go along with Day 9 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween. The challenge for the next two weeks is "Black Lace." Easy as pie! I used the new Little Witch Play for my card. I used the same technique for coloring her as I did with my ADfD post last week. I used my Tombow acrylic markers, and colored them on to an acrylic block (one color set at a time...so, like just the greens for her dress, then just the grays for the cat and boots, etc.) and I painted the ink on with a brush and some water. I used my Stampendous Mixed Media paper for this, which goes through my printer so nicely, by the way. After she was all colored, I added some chalk to my background. For my black lace, I actually took some white lace trim, and sprayed it with Diet Cola Memories Mist. It took a while to dry, so I worked on my card base while it was drying. I played with Spoonful of Rust, and I think the colors worked really well wit...

Day 8 of 31: If You've Got it, Haunt it.

Hellooooooo! It's time for Day 8 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween. I've got a card for you today that goes along with the Stampendous theme this week, which is "If You've Got it Haunt it." And since its Dreamweaver Thursday, I've tied a stencil into this theme too. I took a slightly different approach to this theme. Instead of doing something witchy, I decided to "haunt" my pretty Fairy stencil a bit. Real simple...just used Glossy Black Embossing Paste. I like that it picks up the texture of the cardstock that I used, because I didn't apply a super thick layer of paste. I got my sentiment from an older Stampendous stamp that is no longer available, but it had lots of sentiments all on one stamp. I spritzed it with irRESISTables from Imagine Crafts for some glossy texture. I used some washi tape and paper scraps to finish off the card. Easy peasy! This was another fairly quick card to make (minus the drying time of the embossi...
