Jack O' Lantern: Day 25 of 31

Greetings! Today, I broke out an old favorite. It's a BIG Jack O' Lantern stamp from Tattered Angels. The set is one of my favorite Halloween sets that I have. The images are all big, craggy, and awesome. This card is 6 1/2" x 5" so you can get a feel for how big the stamp is. I inked it up with Spiced Chai StazOn ink and then I colored it with my Zig Clean Color markers. I inked the edge with Rich Cocoa Memento ink, and used the same color, in marker form, to add my Inkadinkado sentiment. My background was super simple to make. I just used the Cappuccino Delight Kaleidacolor , rolled out with my brayer, a few spritzes of Ink Potion No. 9 , plus a couple of sprays of Sheer Shimmer Frost. I'm running low on time because I have finally started working on my daughter's costume. And I need to get that finished so that I can start my son's. So making a fairly quick card like this was pretty important. I think drying time took the longest, and tha...

Day 6 of 31- Painted Slate

Welcome to Day 6 of the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween! I have something totally different from what I have been posting thus far. A friend of mine is stenciling on slates for an upcoming fundraiser for a local school. She had never stenciled before, so I told her I would show her how. She asked if I could work some magic on a few of the slates, so of course, not only did I say yes, but I took it a step further than just stenciling, I stamped on the slate too! I have these fantastic stencils and coordinating stamps from Tattered Angels that I thought would be really cool on the slate. They are big! The pumpkin stamp is about 4 or 5 inches. I stenciled the background by using the stencil and acrylic paint. Then I stamped the image with Versa Craft. I only stamped the web. And I had lettered the "boo." The "boo" is a deep purple, though it's hard to tell here. t still needs to be sealed and have it's leather cord added, but my friend will ...

Paint and Splatter: S&S DT Throwdown!

Hello friends and fiends. Today, I am sharing with you a project that I made for the Smeared & Smudged DT Throwdown. What's that you ask? Well, you can check out the rules  HERE , but basically, it's a bunch of teams that are pitted against each other to see who has the coolest project in a set theme. My team is the Ali Kats, and we are Kathi , G ittery Katie and moi. The theme for this first go-around is "Paint and Splatter." I love this challenge! I decided to do something I don't do too often. I made a tag. The Ali Kats knew we wanted to do at least one project featuring our Bombshell Stamps , (that's what brought us together, after all!) and what better way to kick off the Throwdown? I went with my favorite (and first) Bombshell, Pirate's Life . And I vamped her up. A lot. Mmmmmm....someone just had a big meal. Look at the smear on her arm from wiping her mouth! Perhaps she should carry a napkin, or some Wet Ones..... I used gray and a pal...

Day 9 of 12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to the 9th day of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas! Today, I have a tag I've made. I used a Smeared Ink image that I recently got...I had wanted it for a while. I love bats, so I was really stoked to get this guy. Perfect image for Creepmas! I used watercolors to color the image in. Here's a closer look. I also watercolored the background of my tag. Then I took a Glimmer Screen from Tattered Angels and painted over it with white acrylic paint. I stamped my sentiment with my Just Rite alpha stamper. And I added some sparkly, chunky yarn...that kinda looks like dreadlocks. This was a fun tag. I really enjoyed making the background. Please be sure to visit the rest of the Jolly Bloggers. They are all listed in my sidebar. And now, I need to take a moment for something else. 6 years ago today, I became a Mom. And I couldn't be happier or more proud. My Phoenix is 6 today, and I cannot believe how quickly time has passed. He is totally amazing,...

Adorable Rhiannon

Ooh, I am so excited! I made a scrapbook page! It's been forever since I have had a chance to scrap, and the bug has officially bitten me again. Not that I don't always have the "itch," but now I really wanna play with my thousands of photos! I used one of my all time favorite photos of Rhiannon, the photo was taken in September of 2009, when she was almost 9 months old. And she's wearing one of my most favorite shirts that she's ever had. Look at that face!!! It's that little smile that makes every little tantrum, late night, and unfinished dinners worth it. This little smile makes my heart melt. My 12x12 layout has a lot of fun little details. I had such a good time getting inky. It's been far too long... See that pretty border? I made it using Clear Snap's  Design Adhesive and glitter. The pretty Design Adhesive goes on like a dream...then you just shake on your glitter and voila! Easy as 1-2-3! I love this stuff! I also broke out my be...

Simply B Challenges: Spritz, Paint & Mask

Welcome to the newest Simply B Stamps challenge! This one was SO up my alley! I really hope you’ll play along. This month we challenge you to…. SPRITZ, MASK & PAINT We want to see you get out your sprays, mists, masks or paints to make your project!  Let's get messy! Totally fun, right??? My fingers were pretty well inked by the time I finished this card. Just the way I like it! It makes me feel like I’ve really done something cool. And I hope you’ll agree! I used the lovely Romance Grace from the Valentine Steampunk collection (not to bee confused with the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine collection). I colored her with watercolor markers and Copics…then I got inky. I dug out some Glimmer Screens and sprays from Tattered Angels, chalk, ink pads, and Stickles. Plus some pearls and cogs. There are a ton of layers here…I hope you can see the image that I actually put on top of Grace. I used a compass with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist. Subtle, but just what I needed to give t...
