June Sparkle Blends Blog Hop

Greetings! It's time for the June Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends Release Hop! There are 6 glorious new Sparkle Blends, and the Designer Divas are going to be sharing projects using them. Be sure to head over to the Doodles Paper Playground Blog to get all of the details on the new Sparkle Blends and the hop info. My card today uses the gorgeous and seriously magical Unicorn Dreams . I started off with a scrap piece of Rainbow Shattered Glass DecoFoil from Therm O Web. I had already applied it to a piece of cardstock with double sided sheet tape. I stamped my butterfly (from Stampendous' Cling Lilac stamp set) with StazOn Pigment ink in Piano Black and then used the coordinating die cut on it. Because the butterfly was all turquoise, Unicorn Dreams was really the perfect Blend for my shaker. Look at those fabulous colors in Unicorn Dreams! There's pinks, purples, turquoise, plus unicorn heads and full unicorns! Ooh, and I can't forget to mention the sta...

Hello Spring Shaker

Hello! We're finally really feeling Spring in New York, and I am so happy about it. I'm not a fan of the cold at all, and seeing the flowers begin to pop out of the ground makes me feel so good. The beautiful weather we've been having really inspired my shaker card for today. Also, I've been really loving the rainbow backgrounds that Laura Bassen makes, so she also inspired me. I knew I wanted to make a shaker, so I began to play with different elements. First, I colored these chicks from the Simply Celebrate stamp set from Lawn Fawn, and I fussy cut them. I colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers, and the colors I used helped me to choose what Distress Oxides I would use for my background. These colors also helped me to choose which Sparkle Blend(s) from Doodles Paper Playground that I wanted to use, which turned out to be Easter Basket with a little bit of Springtime . I thought the Petals Background stencil from Stampendous went really well not only with ...

Valentine's Day Card Assortment

Greetings! So, Valentine's Day was 9 days ago at the time of this post, but I never had a chance to share the cards I made for my family. I am not a fan of V-Day, and I usually wait until the last minute to make cards for it. Besides the chocolate, it's just not my thing. And really, I prefer the day after Valentine's Day when the chocolate is on sale. ;)  Anyway, I made a card for my husband, and each of my children. Here's the card for my hubs.  I used the amazing and funny " As You Wish " stamp set from Ink Road Stamps for his card. Did you know I named this set? I started off with a monoprint that I made ages ago with a Electric Pink Radiant Neon and Golden Glitz Delicata reinkers from Imagine . As I was designing this card, I thought that the monoprint needed a little something more, so I used a Tim Holtz stencil with Barn Door Distress Oxide, to give it a bit of a sun ray effect.  Then I stamped the Princess and Robin with VersaFine Clair ink on...

White Rose Crafts February Sketch Challenge

Hello! Today I have something that I haven't done in far too long. A scrapbook page! Oh man, how I miss making these. It's a goal of mine to get more layouts made this year. I was really inspired by the February White Rose Crafts Sketch Challenge, and I am hoping to make each one this year a scrapbook page. I had this photo from a few years ago. It was springtime, and the beautiful magnolia tree in my neighbor's yard was blooming, so it was a perfect opportunity to get some great shots of my kids. This one was a favorite. I love the beautiful flowers from the Altair " Ever Dream " Ephemera Sheet, and I fussy cut several of the elements out. They coordinated perfectly with my photo. It's hard to tell, but my daughter's dress is covered in butterflies, so the butterflies on this sheet were just right for this page too. I took some Turquoise Creative Medium from Imagine and the Circles and Pluses stencil from Studio Light and applied it to my bac...

Dewlet Hello

Hello! Today, I've got a new shaker card to share featuring several beautiful Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground.  I recently purchased the new Dewlet dies from Imagine. They're meant to perfectly die cut around their Dew Drop Inks. But I knew they would also be great for shaker cards.  I started off by laying out all 5 Dewlets in a pattern. I temporarily taped them down and die cut them in my Big Shot. Then, I added foam tape. Then I realized I forgot to add acetate to seal the windows! So I carefully pulled off the foam tape and added acetate. Luckily, I realized my goof up before I got too far with the tape. After I added all of the tape, I chose my Sparkle Blends. I used (from top to bottom) Love Potion , Pretty in Pink , Garnet , Lilac Luster , and I combined Rosy Gold with Strawberry Fields . I really like the pink, purple, and red color combination these Blends gave the card.  For my sentiment, I die cut the Sugar Script " Big Hello " from...
