Artful INKables Blog Hop

By the time you read this, I will have already seen Eclipse!!! I can’t believe it’s out! I’ll be sure to give you the play by play of my Triple Feature experience after I recover from the throngs of teenagers! So I am in TWO Blog Hops today! This post is obviously for Artful INKables , and the second is for Bombshell Stamps. Please take a look at both of my posts for today! Thanks! ;} So let’s talk Twilight. I made a card using 3 of my fabulous AI stamps. I really, really love these stamps! And I hope it shows in my card! I started off with the harlequin stamp on some spotted yellow paper, and I cut that out. I wanted to use my swirl stamp, so I stamped it a few times, end to end, and cropped it real tight. You actually don’t see the full swirl because I trimmed so much of it off. But I like how it takes up the whole strip on either side. And I stamped my sentiment and laid it on top. After I had all of my pieces, I distressed the hell out of it! Lots of colors, lots of layers, lots ...

TTIC Color Challenge #3: Bella & Edward’s Wedding Flowers

I am happy to be bringing you the 3rd Twilight Tuesday Color Challenge today! These are pretty different from the normal Twi-colors of red, black and white, so I am really excited about this challenge! Here’s what I wrote on the TTIC Blog: Here are the Bella and Edward’s Wedding Flowers! We’ve got Lilac, Orange Blossom (yes, for those of you with green thumbs out there, orange blossoms are actually white…but just work with me here ok? ) and finally, Rose. It’s a very soft palate. And I hate the winter… so I needed a pick me up with these colors! These are the lovely flowers Alice picked out for the Wedding. What a pretty combo of flowers don’tcha think? So create something soft and beautiful for this challenge. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Like I said, different right? So here’s what I came up with: Now, I’m still sick with this awful cold… so the card is missing a little pizzazz… but at 9PM when I was working on this card last night, the pizzazz-making part of my bra...

Twilight Tuesday Anniversary Blog Hop

Happy Anniversary to Twilight Tuesday ! I have been actively participating in the Twilight Tuesday Challenges since challenge #24: Carlisle Cullen. That was before I even had a blog!!! Well, for this very special week, we are doing a huge blog hop, filled with wonderful cards, layouts, and surprises! Make sure you show some love to all of the participants! The hop will start and end at Twilight Tuesday . If you’re already on the hop, you should have come from Dani’s blog. For the hop I decided to revisit one of my favorite challenges, #29, BFF’s Jacob and Bella. We were to make a project celebrating our best friend (or Jake and Bella’s relationship). I made a layout that I have wanted to make for quite some time now. I’ve had the pictures printed and everything… well, I finally got to make it! It’s not a crazy layout like I sometimes make… I didn’t spend hours pondering what the heck I was gonna do with it… I wanted to focus on the photos… and it just kinda fell in to place. Dontcha...

TTSC #12

Happy Monday! I finally got to do the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #12! I am participating in a Breaking Dawn swap hosted by my awesome friend Tia. These cards are for the swap. But first, here’s the sketch: And here is my card: I liked using something other than the traditional Twi-colors of red, black and white. I wanted it to be fresh. Bella is transformed in Breaking Dawn, and I wanted to reflect that here. I used bright, cheery colors and I highlighted the chess piece almost as if it were an icon. Please click on any of the images to get a bigger photo. I used 2 stamps from Artful INKables, cardstock from DCWV and Prism and markers from EK Success. Dani just posted a new Sketch Challenge, so make sure you go over to Twilight Tuesday to see it. And be SURE to check in with me and TTIC because it’s our 1 year Anniversary Blog Hop!

TTIC #51 Edward Cullen

Happy Tuesday! There’s another great Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge for you to participate in! This week we are focusing on none other than Edward himself! The super talented Jen came up with this one, and here it is! It's time to focus on Edward. Even though the stories are told from Bella's point of view all of the books with the exception of Breaking Dawn focus almost entirely on Edward, through Bella's mind. Even in New Moon when Edward is gone her every action is focused on not losing her connection with him. So for this challenge I want you to focus on your connection to Edward. What does his character mean to you? For the creative challenge: Create a project that focuses on Edward. For the comment portion: How do you feel about Edward's character? Is it like, love or disdain? Have you read the partial draft of Midnight Sun? What did you think about reading the story from his point of view? This week, I decided to combine the Edward challenge with the Twi...

Twilight Challenge #50: Charlie

Hello fellow Twi-Hards! It’s Tuesday again, so it’s time for another FANG-tastic Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week’s challenge was created by My darling Aussie friend Donna. Here’s what she wrote: “One of the best things about Charlie is that he doesn’t hover.” This has to be one of the most memorable lines from both Twilight the novel and Twilight the movie… Let’s face it, we all love Charlie….. And Stephanie describes this quite and thoughtful man’s personality and temperament in this one single sentence. But as we all know his relationship with Bella changes from starting out as strangers thrown together in an awkward situation and slowly grows into a bond that any father and daughter would be envious of. So, this week my challenge to you is simple… Craft Portion: Create a project that represents Charlie’s and Bella’s relationship or a relationship you have with a ‘father’ figure in your life. Comment Portion: Tell us about your relationship with a ‘father’ fig...

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #49 Home

It’s Tuesday again! Which could only mean one thing… it’s time for another Twilight Tuesday challenge!!! This week’s challenge comes from Erica: Throughout the series Bella discusses a lot of homes. She spends a lot of time at home, maybe not her home, but if the saying is true, it is home to her. This challenge is pretty simple. Make a craft based on either a home discussed in the series or what means home to you. Here are some of the houses discussed in the book... Charlie's house: unchanged since Renee moved out. I always remember her discussing the yellow cabinets in the kitchen. Kind of small, a sort of bachelor pad with a bit of an outdated woman's touch. Renee's homes The Cullen's house: Giant windows, open, white, three stories, a mix of modern and classic The house on Isle Esme Edward and Bella's cottage: my personal favorite, small, a mix of styles, stone floors, small garden, fireplace, think Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and of course you can't fo...

TTIC #44: It’s BOOKS That Brought us Together!

Hello again and welcome to another awesome Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week our challenge was created by Rebecca, and she honed in on a topic that goes way beyond Twilight! She writes: Reading the Twilight saga books is what brought us all together …. so this week is really dedicated to books. I hadn’t stayed up all night reading anything in a very long time, yet that was exactly what I did with the books – I couldn’t put them down! Many of you have shared similar stories with me on that topic. Each of the books have their own sub-theme throughout the series. Wuthering Heights is discussed many times in Eclipse, in fact – bookstores have been reporting that their sales of Wuthering Heights were through the roof after Eclipse came out. Each book in the series was inspired by and loosely based on a different literary classic: Twilight on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice , New Moon on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet , Eclipse on Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights , ...

TTIC #43 A Love Song for Bella and Edward

It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Challenge! This week, my Book Buddy Beth created it; and it’s a good one. Here’s what she wrote: I love music! I relate just about everything I hear in songs to something. I just breathe it in – I FEEL it! So my challenge is going to draw on that. I challenge you to think about the Saga as a whole, and then to decide in retrospect, what Edward and Bella’s song should be. It can be a song about a particular part of their relationship, or their journey as a whole. Be prepared to explain!! This IS a variation of a prior challenge, so I ask that you try and go in a different direction if you participated previously! This will take some thought before project ideas even come into play – I better go start studying my iPod now… Challenge Portion: Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can. Create a project scrapbook layout around this song. Comment Portion: Do you have a theme song? One that...

TTIC #41: The Love Triangle

It’s Tuesday again! That means it’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge! This week’s challenge was created by Eve. Here’s what she wrote: It’s complicated….we all know that. I mean really could you choose? Well for some of us it is easy {Edward for me!} However, for Bella it is a little more difficult. Jacob fills that void {or hole} while Edward is gone. And does a pretty good job at it. It is complicated and for sure- a love triangle at it’s best. Is Jacob more of a brother type figure? Or do you see Bella falling into love with Jacob while Edward is gone? There are so many angles to this triangle…….. For craft challenge: Make a card {or other item} that represents the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. For comment challenge: What do you feel were some of the down falls of this love triangle? What do you feel were some of the high points? I’ve got to say… I had a REALLY tough time with this one. I also have to say, that my husband Gene helpe...

TTIC #39: Your Everything

I am SOOOO excited about this week’s challenge! Why? Because it’s MY challenge! As I Guest Designer for Twilight Tuesday (gosh- that never gets old!), I got the opportunity to create a challenge during my term. Well folks, here it is! This one’s a thinker kids! It’s no secret that Breaking Dawn is my favorite book in the series. So, now that it’s my turn to create a challenge (which I am SO excited about!), of course I would pull something from that book! Spoiler Alert! If you haven’t read Breaking Dawn, then stop reading this post and pick up that book! Then, you can come back and read the post, and complete the challenge! One of the things I love the most about Breaking Dawn are Jacob’s chapter titles. They’re hilarious! My favorite is: “What do I look like? The Wizard of Oz? You Need a Brain? You Need a Heart? Go Ahead. Take Mine. Take Everything I Have.” Chapter 17, page 329 This chapter title perfectly depicts what Jacob is going through but in a sarcastic, tough, Jacob kinda ...

TTIC #38 The Honeymoon

If you did not complete the Twilight Saga… then STOP READING!!! Tons of spoilers are in this post, and I don’t want to ruin it for you. But, why the heck haven’t you finished the series yet?!?!? This week’s Challenge is brought to us by Dani, my buddy who loves NCIS just like I do! Anyway, here’s the scoop! I’m nothing if not thorough. Edward Cullen, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 5, pg.78 The Challenges: Craft – Make something that you feel represents Bella and Edward’s honeymoon. Comment – Tell us about your honeymoon (no personal details please!). Did you go somewhere or see something special? Or did you just hide out from the world and enjoy being with your new spouse? If you haven’t been on a honeymoon, that is ok! What is your dream honeymoon? For my honeymoon, Gene and I went to St. Martin. It was so beautiful there. And the food…oh the food… I will never forget how my taste buds danced! We were there for 6 days, and we had such a fantastic time! We bought our first digital camera the...

Bella’s Lullaby Necklace

Well, folks, I got a lot of wonderful feedback last week when I blogged about the Twilight Necklace I made. Here’s the LINK if you missed it. So, I decided to make another necklace… I actually really wanted to anyway, since the beading bug has bitten me again. Plus, I still had Pam’s charms so… Here’s my latest creation. Most Twi-stuff is depicted in red, black and white, but the movie had such a blue cast to it, I decided to use that as my color inspiration. You can see here that it’s got a tiny photo of Edward and Bella, during the piano scene, in a bottle cap. I put 5 little charms on the chain, plus another hanging off the back of the piece. I lov e the colors, and I really like the combination of sizes and textures of all of the elements I used. I even listed it on my Etsy Shop so that if you want it to be yours, it can be! I plan on making more of these little babies, but if there’s a specific scene that YOU want to wear around your neck, let me know and Pam and I will...

TTIC Make-Up Week

Hey everybody! Because of the Holiday, TTIC is taking a break from releasing a new challenge this week. Instead, it’s going to be a catch up week, which is great because there are definitely some challenges I wanted to do but couldn’t for one reason or another. So, I decided to use Beth’s Challenge from May 26th: Favorite New Moon Quote. Click on the title to check out the original posting. Here’s the quote I chose: “Before you, Bella, my life was alike a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars- points of light and reason. …And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly, everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. “ -New Moon pg. 514 And here’s my project. I have been on a mega jewelry kick lately, and all I wanna do is make necklaces, so I thought that I could translate my quote into a piece of wearable homage to Twilight. I used a beautiful piece of dichroic glass for my interpretation of Bella as the meteor. The starlight sky is the glimmeri...
