Feline Christmas

Hello! The Stampendous Design Team has been giving some sneak peeks to some of the new stamps that will be in the July catalog this week. Today, I am sharing one of the new Laurel Burch stamps, called Feline Christmas. I really like this stamp, and I loved coloring it. The image is large enough that you don't need to do much more to the card, except perhaps throw on a sentiment like I did. My full instructions are below.

Supplies:
Stampendous:
LBW013: Laurel Burch Feline Christmas
SSC1291: Holiday Wishes
DCP1005: Fitted Frames Set A

Other:
My Colors Cardstock: Parrot
Bo Bunny: Powder Blue Vintage Double Dot- #12PBV968
Imagine: VersaFine Clair: Nocturne Ink, StazOn: Spiced Chai Ink
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers: 022, 023, 029, 032, 036, 043, 040, 041, 044, 045, 050, 065, 068, 070, 260
Canson Mixed Media Paper
Scrapbook Adhesives: EZ Runner

Directions:
1. Stamp Feline Christmas on to Mixed Media Paper using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

2. Color the stamped image with the Zig Markers listed.

3. Die cut the colored image using the Small "W" Fitted Frame.

4. Die cut a piece of Parrot cardstock using the Large "W" Fitted Frame.

5. Create the card base using Powder Blue Vintage Double Dot, cut to 4 1/4" x 11." If you don't want the entire card to be made of this cardstock, simply cut a panel that is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and create the card base out of white heavy weight cardstock.

6. Stamp a sentiment from the Holiday Wishes stamp set with SPiced Chai StazOn ink. You do not need to use StazOn, I just thought the color was perfect. So any brown you have will do.

7. Glue all layers using EZ Runner adhesive.

What colors would you use for the cat? I purposely shied away from the traditional red and green. I thought that the orange and blue would be fun, and since they are opposite on the color wheel, I knew they would really pop. I'll have another new project to share soon so I hope you'll visit me again when I do. Please visit the Stampendous Blog to see more projects from the team. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
