Lilac Lustre Filly

Greetings! Today I am sharing a card that features the gorgeous Lilac Lustre Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. The opalescence and holographic qualities of this blend is amazing. You don't need to use a lot to get a ton of shine and beauty.

Some time ago, I had made a bunch of backgrounds with Distress Oxides. I was just having so much fun playing with them, that I just played with the inks for a while, just covering sheets of cardstock to use at a later date. This is one of the backgrounds I had made. To be honest, I don't recall all of the Distress Oxides that are on this, but there is certainly Wilted Violet and Antique Linen. There's a blue shade too....I think it's Faded Jeans. Anyway, I go through these backgrounds from time to time to see what I am inspired to work with and this one screamed Lilac Lustre to me.

I went through my stamps, knowing I didn't want something too thick and heavy that would cover up the background, and I came across Stampendous' Filly Sketch stamp. It was just what I needed. Light, airy, and a little messy. I stamped the filly on with VersaFine ink in Onyx Black. Then I added the sequins with On Point Glue. My card base is gray, and I used a metallic marker from Spectrum Noir around the edge to tie in the lustre of the sequins.

That's it for me today. I'll have a really fun shaker to share with you soon. I can't wait for you to see it. Don't forget that all Sparkle Blends are limited edition, and are only available from White Rose Crafts LLC. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
