It's October 1st!!! DICC #39 and Day 1 of S&S 31 Days of Halloween

It's October!!!! My absolute favorite month of the year! I am SO happy that it is finally here. Today is huge, for so many reasons. I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge to share with you, the new term with Bombshell Stamps is starting, and...the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween has started! Holy crow! That's a whole lotta stuff. Let's start with the itinerary for DICC, which is also my project for today's 31 Days project.

DICC Itinerary: Sponsored by Floppy Latte, created by Jenn
1. Candles
2. Full Moons
3.  Bats or Owls
4.  Creepy Crawlies (spiders, snakes, bugs, etc.)
5. Silhouettes
6. Coffins or tombstones
7. Purple
8. Witch(es)
9. Ink or paint splatters
10. Silver or Gold

I chose to use this fabulous silhouette of an owl and a full moon by Floppy Latte. The itinerary numbers I used were 2, 3, 5, 7 (I promise it's purple and not blue!), 9, and 10. I colored the moon with 3 colors of Copics.

I inked the edge with a chalk ink, and after assembling the whole card, I sprayed it with Walnut Stain Glimmer Mist.

Here you can really see the shimmer from the Mist. Isn't it pretty? I like how the large splotches of Mist look like craters on the moon.

My sentiment (stamped on Mulberry paper) is from Inkadinkado. It's a very simple card, and not overtly Halloween, but for the faint of heart, this is just spooky enough.

Now, you have few things to do. You need to head over to the DICC Blog to see what the rest of the DT did with their Floppy Latte images. You need to check your visit the Bombshell Blog/Forum and your inbox to meet the entire team for the newest term. And, now this is super important, you need to check out my sidebar. See the Wicked Blogger list? Go and visit all of those wonderful folks from the Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween for nothing but Halloween goodness! Go get hopping! Thank you for stopping by. Have a creep-tastic day!

Great colors and I love the Copic work. They blend so well and I love the touch of the Mulberry paper, I didn't think of that for any of my projects. Thanks for sharing.
Love the card, Alison! Happy October!
I think it is a lovely Halloween card. I agree that the splotches are a positive addition!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
