Hello! Today, I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge for you. For this challenge, we are sponsored by Kenny K, and I got to use an image I have loved since it's debut.... Elf Queen. Here is the itinerary. Remember, you need to use at least 3 items on the itinerary to play along. 1. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry 2. Something New 3. Ribbon or Trim 4. Add Sparkle 5. Add Metal 6. Use a Die or Punch 7. No Patterned Paper 8. Feel the Love 9. Use Geometric Shapes 10. Anything but a Card I used numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10. Seriously, how cool is this image??? I hope you can see the sparkle on my tag. I colored this Tim Holtz die cut tag with Distress Inks, then I sprayed it with Imagine's Sheer Shimmer Spray in Frost. My sentiment and the stars are from the Dreams are Made stamp set from Hero Arts  and were stamped with VersaFine. The Elf Queen was colored with Zig Clean Color Markers. You have a full month to play along with us, so you've go...

Day 1 of the 31 Days of Halloween

So it begins! Happy October!!! I am so excited for this month...I just hope I can get all of my projects done on time! If you're new to the 31 Days of Halloween, this is a month long blog hop with lots of amazing crafters, sharing some of the coolest Halloween stuff you'll find out in Bloggy Land. I'm kicking off the month with a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . We are sponsored by Sweet Escapes.  And this is the itinerary for the challenge. As always, you need to use at least 3 items. I used #'s 1, 6, 7, and 8 to make a 6x6" Mini Page. It was tough to turn this pretty image into something creepy....but I do like a challenge. I turned her into a sort of evil Fall fairy. I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush. I used the Falling Leaves stencil from Dreamweaver with Copper Creative Medium from Imagine on the bottom. I also stamped the stars from Hero Arts' Dreams are Made set. For the paint, I used Deco Art Media...

Bombshell Muse Monday and DICC #78

Happy June! I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first is for this month's Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday, and the second is for Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . This month, the Muse Monday set is Homeward Bound. This is a set I was a bit wary about, until I started to use it. I quickly fell in love with it, and it's now one of my favorites. I decided to go in a new direction and have the ship sailing in the rain. I purposely did not ink up the sun, to add to the bit of gloom I was trying to achieve. I used a lot of grays and some creams to mute down the colors. It was all colored with alcohol markers. I also clear embossed rain drops on top of the ship, as well as on my background by using the Rain stencil from Dreamweaver Stencils . The chain is from the Homeward Bound set as well. The set has several smaller images that are so fantastic. It's one of the reasons I love to use it. My fabulous ribbon is from May Arts . I didn't glue it down too...

The image is called Demented Beauty .  I had such a fun time coloring her! Just enough detail. I guess it may not have as much pink as some of my other teamies....but for this shade of pink, it's kind of a lot for me.  I used watercolor markers to color in the image. And, I got to play with a new (...

I had such high hopes...and my ideas were good. But in the end...this was a bomb. Now, you may say, why would I start the first project of the year with a piece that I don't even like? Because bad pieces can come at any time, and it's ok. You've gotta just accept it and move on. I am going to rip the whole thing apart and start over. It's an adorable image, but my color choices didn't work as I had wanted, and it went downh...

Day 9 of 12 Days of Creepmas: DICC with Dilly Beans

Greetings! I'd like to thank those of you that sent well wishes to my daughter for her Birthday. Today is another momentous occasion....it's my son's birthday! That's right. Both kids...within 2 days of each other, 1 week before Christmas. Go. Me. My boy is 7, and I can hardly stand it! Why must it go so fast??? But on to why you are really here. My 9th Creepmas project! I made this for the latest Desert Islands Crafters Challenge . Yup. I am 2 days late. But during this crazy week, I am lucky if anything gets made! 12 Days of Creepmas: Day 1 and DICC

Happy December 1st! I can hardly believe it is the last month of the year. Today officially marks Day 1 of the Smeared & Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas. Hopefully, you already know what that is.But if for some crazy reason you don't, please visit Terra's Blog to get the full run down. Also, since it's the 1st of the month, I have a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge to share with you. This time, we are sponsored by Saturated Canary. I'm warning you, Creepmas fans...this was is gonna be cah-yute!!! ;) But first, my Creepmas card. I used Noelle from Stampotique for this card. And look! I made a single layer card! And it's (fairly) clean and simple! 2 things I don't usually do. I did a rough coloring job on Noelle, to go with the style she was drawn in. Plus, since there is so little negative space, I thought that coloring outside the lines would be good so that more color would show. I did my border with a stencil and Distress Inks. My sentiment...
