September Pin-Up Challenge: Paint Splatter

Hello! It is time to share the September Pin-Up Challenge from Bombshell Stamps. This month, Lizzie, our Pin-Up of the month, challenged us to use paint splatter on our projects. This was SO up my alley!!! I love to splatter paint!

I decided to work with one f my newer (for me) sets, Girl's Ruin. This was so much fun for me. I started off by stamping the focal image from Girl's Ruin twice. The first version, I colored only the Bombshell's skin and tights. The second (which I had separated from everything else so that I wouldn't ruin any other images with paint), I went to town with.

I chose three colors (very 80's combo, don'tcha think?), and splattered the whole thing with a fan brush. I had so much fun flicking and spattering paint everywhere! When I was happy with my splatter, and it was totally dry, I cut out the large shoe, her bikini top, and her teeny shoe. I kept them attached to each other. This was actually a pretty easy cutting job considering some of the "fussy cutting" (I really hate that term) that I do. Then I just glued this cut out piece to the one I originally colored.

I found some of my favorite mulberry paper (so soft, and the colors rock!), added some teal cardstock that I added a background stamp to, purple ink, a star button, brads, staples, and Liquid Pearls in Platinum. This was super fun, especially since I am usually rather intimidated by paper piecing. But with this particular image, it is so easy. I will need to do it again sometime.
So, don't you want to get painty with the Bombshells? Then link up your projects to today's blog post. Run over to the Bombshell Blog for all the details. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Love this. The colors and how you splattered them. The top matching the shoes is great! To me this is classic paint splatter!
This is a super take on this challenge. I love the paper piecing.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...
