Hello! It's release day for the Toxic Teens from Simply B Stamps ! I hope you checked out the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls post yesterday, as that's the team that's sharing these cool new images with you. If you didn't, please go and visit The Dolls. Yesterday we previewed 3 new images for you. Today, we are sharing the last 4 in the new Toxic Teens collection. I have 3 cards to show you here. Up first, is Tommy. I love this little guy. He's adorable. And super cool. I love coloring these images because of all the details. Check out his rad sneakers, for example.  I colored Tommy (and my other 2 images with a combination of watercolor markers and Copics. That little music note stamp coming out of Tommy's headphones is from Inkadinkado. Now, the next 2 images are really special to me. Betty Boo named them after my kidlings!!! How cool is that? Yes, yes! It is time for another preview with Simply B Stamps . But this time, it is with the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls ! We are previewing 3 of the new Toxic teens today, and the last 4 will be tomorrow. And, they will be available for purchase tomorrow! I have one project to share with you today. This is Charlotte. Isn't she sweet? I love her! How great is her hat?! I used my watercolor markers and my Copics to color Charlotte in. And I used some of my favorite colors! It's release day for the new Simply B Stamps, Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun collection! Plus, we have a special blog hop for you today! We will be sharing the last image in the collection with you, which is Fireman Jude. You should be coming here from  Barbara's Blog . If you get lost along the way, you can hop over to the SBS Blog to get back on track.  Would you like to see what I've made? Look at Jude with his little puppy! I was a little worried about coloring this image at first, because of all the black. I wanted the textures to look different, since the uniform is obviously made of a much different material than the hat is! Do you think I succeeded? I made the shine on the uniform a little blotchy, and I used more of a flicking technique on the helmet, as I imagine that it would be much shinier than the uni. I found some fabulous yellow fabric in with my Mom's scraps that I just had to use. I frayed the heck out of it for more texture, and stapled it

Yee Haw!!! Not words I would normally be shouting (or even uttering for that matter). But today is different. Today I, along with the rest of the Simply B Stamps team, am previewing the newest image from the Jude and the Rockers Just for Fun collection. Say hello to Yee Haw Ali. What kid (and really, what adult) doesn't love to blow bubbles? Isn't this a great image? I used the Deconstructed Sketch #48 for this card. Here's a close up of Ali. I used my watercolor markers and Copics for Ali. I also used a Smeared Ink splatter stamp and a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly. But my favorite thing about this card are those pretty little bubbles that Ali is blowing. I used some pretty glitter embossing powder around the sentiment and on the splatter. Doesn't a bubble sparkle and shimmer a bit when they are mid-pop? So, are you loving this release so far? I hope so! Want to see more? Hello! It's Preview Day 2 for the newest Jude and the Rockers collection from Simply B Stamps ! You're going to love today's cutie! And if you have little ones at home, I am quite sure you've seen them doing this very thing...Say Hello to Doctor Brittany! My little Rhiannon was giving us all check ups just the other day! Isn't this sweet? Now, I just need to take pics of her doing it so that I can make a scrapbook page! I used my dynamic duo of watercolor markers and Copics for this little beauty. My sentiment is from Inkandinkado. Hard to tell in this photo, but I glitter embossed around the edge of the image. Also around the edge of the green cardstock. Greetings! It's time for a new collection from Simply B Stamps ! You know the drill, we are going to preview one new image every day this week, and then on Friday, we will have a fun Blog Hop to celebrate this new release! This collection is from the Jude and the Rockers series, and it's called Just for Fun. You are going to love these images! Today, we are sharing Chef Ariel with you. I always love to color in the images of Ariel. I think it's all about those cool glasses for me! I asked Phoenix for a little advice when it came to coloring the cake. I really didn't want to do white. So He told me his color choices, and I went with them! Doesn't it look yummy? I used some super cheery and sorbet-colored papers from K and Co. Hello Everyone! All month long, I have been itching to participate in the latest Dreamweaver Stencils challenge. It's April Showers Bring May Flowers. You can check it out on their blog HERE . As it turns out, I had gotten a lovely rose stencil from Dreamweaver because I won their March challenge (yay me!). And it looked just perfect with my Bombshell Stamps Mi Amor  set, so I knew I wanted to put the two together. Here's what I came up with. Seriously, don't the roses in her hair go perfectly with the stencil? I started off by coloring Mi Amor with my watercolor markers. Then, I added the rose background with chalk in 4 colors. Here's a closer look. The colors match much better in real life. For some reason (I have complained about this before), my camera, no matter the setting/lighting, doesn't photograph purples properly. I can never capture them right. They always look too blue. Here's another shot of those soft, pretty roses in the background.

Hello! It's the 3rd Tuesday of the month, so it's time for another Altered Challenge for the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls ! This time around, I wanted to challenge everyone to create Pandora's Box. Well, ok. You don't have to go and read any Greek mythology (though there is a bit posted on the Dolls' Blog), but I want you to make or alter a box. And creep it out. You know the drill! So I have a bunch of coffins that I snagged super cheap, and I had yet to use one. So, I figured this was as good an opportunity as any! Here's what I did. It was pretty simple, but just creepy enough. I painted it all black, then I attacked it with Marigold Distress Crackle paint. After it dried and got nice and crackly, I went over it with Gathered Twig and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to age it further and dull down the color. Then, I took some beautiful spiderweb stamps from Basic Grey and embossed them in a Platinum color. Silver would have been way to bright. The platinu

It’s April 15th, which means it’s time for a new Desert Islands Crafters Challenge. We have a specail guest that created our latest itinerary. My bestie Kelli Green ! 1. Follow my sketch 2. No Flowers 3. Red and Black 4. Favorite Quote (from movie, song, book, just your favorite!) 5. Embossing (any type of embossing) 6. Distressing 7. Metal Hardware 8. Kraft 9. Gray 10. Rounded corners Here’s the sketch she made to go with it. Guess what? I managed to use all 10 items from the itinerary! That doesn’t happen too often! I actually created this card in about a half hour, which is pretty impressive.  I used a vampire stamp that I had yet to ink up, and I backed him with coffins from the same little set from Inkadinkado. My sentiment (which is certainly a favorite of mine, as I use it all the time) is from StampInsanity . I only added a wee bit of whit to his eyes and teeth. I dripped some Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist on to my kraft cardst

Ooh, I am so excited! I made a scrapbook page! It's been forever since I have had a chance to scrap, and the bug has officially bitten me again. Not that I don't always have the "itch," but now I really wanna play with my thousands of photos! I used one of my all time favorite photos of Rhiannon, the photo was taken in September of 2009, when she was almost 9 months old. And she's wearing one of my most favorite shirts that she's ever had. Look at that face!!! It's that little smile that makes every little tantrum, late night, and unfinished dinners worth it. This little smile makes my heart melt. My 12x12 layout has a lot of fun little details. I had such a good time getting inky. It's been far too long... See that pretty border? I made it using Clear Snap's  Design Adhesive and glitter. The pretty Design Adhesive goes on like a dream...then you just shake on your glitter and voila! Easy as 1-2-3! I love this stuff! Greetings! Have you visited the Bombshell Blog lately? If you have, thank you. If you haven't, you really should! You can meet our newbies, and check out some of the coolest projects around. Yesterday, we shared the April Sketch Challenge with you. So I figured I would share my card here today. Here's the sketch, created by out fabulous DT Coordinator, Kathi . I LOVE this sketch. I love the suggestion of using all of those different papers. In fact, I am going to keep it so that I can use it again. Hopefully this month. Here's my take on it. I used my Bombshell Stamps Sugar Skulls set, and a mess of Basic Grey Paper. I started off by coloring my skulls with my watercolor markers. After I had chosen my paper, and saw how distressed everything was, I realized the white cardstock was too white. So I inked it up with a couple of Distress Inks, and that made it work really well with my Basic Grey papers. I also inked the edges of the card itself, and the sentiment

It’s no secret that I love the art both of my kidlings make. But really, what mom doesn’t feel that way? So, I decided I needed to have a way to show off their art work, no matter where I am. I thought about a pendant, but…that would be only one piece of art. Then I thought of a bracelet…that could show case a lot of cool things! But how? Shrink plastic!!! What a fun project for you to create with your child(ren)! Wanna learn how? Well, I put it all together in a tutorial for you! Phoenix is ready too! So let’s go! I started of by cutting my Shinky Dinks into 2” squares. The sheets I have are 8 1/2 x 11, so I was able to get 4 squares and a rectangle from a row.  I cut two rows, so I had 8 squares, and 2 rectangles (a good crafter wastes nothing! So be sure to use those rectangles!).  I pre-sanded one side of the shrink plastic before Phoenix started to color. You need to rough the stuff up a bit so that the color “sticks” better. I let Phoenix use my EK Success watercolor markers
