Back 2 Skool Release!

I have 2 more cards to share with you today featuring some more of Simply Betty Stamps’ newest release… Back 2 Skool. All of the images (there are 6!) are available for purchase starting today! Of course, you can get all of the details on the SBS Blog.

First up, is School Girl Betty. She’s a sweetie!

Once again, my kidlings needed to put in their creative 2 cents, and they chose the colors I would use for Betty. I was all for the purple school girl outfit (which Phoenix chose)…but the bag…I was going to use just green. But Rhiannon insisted I use yellow too. Who am I to argue with a 2 year old???

I dulled the color down with one of the 4 (yes 4!) Copics that I own..E40. It’s called Brick White. And it is a wonderful color that I am so pleased that I purchased. I’m thinking Copics may just be on my Holiday List this year! Any Copic Fairies out there? Feel free to send me some! ;) Her skin was also done with Copics. The rest of Betty was colored using my watercolor markers.

The frame around Betty is from a leftover scrap from a stamp I have of a Phoenix and a Dragon. I needed just the circular image, so I kept the border…and I thin that lime green looks great here! Then I added some chipboard embellishments and called it a day.

Now on to Mad Scientist Christian…who I adore!!!

I mean seriously…isn’t he awesome?!?! I can’t even wait any longer…ya gotta see him close up!

Look at the skull and crossbones in the green smoke! So cool!!! More with the markers… I also used a few Martha Stewart Punches on this card…and I broke out my Smeared Ink stamps again for my sentiment.

I gotta say, I love this one. It came together just right. Doesn’t it feel great when that happens? Well, I know that the other SBS gals have some rad projects too! So please be sure to give them a visit and leave them some love. You have a shot at winning a stamp from this release!!! And, if you are a member of Paper Craft Planet, please join the Simply Betty Stamps group! Once we hit 500 followers, you’ll be able to snag a free digi! Sweet! Tomorrow is the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop, so I hope to see ya here then. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
