Simply Betty Smeared & Smudged Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to a fabulous Blog Hop featuring the totally awesome stamps of Simply Betty!!! If you are looking for the Friends Having Fun Color Challenge, please click HERE.

Simply Betty is one of our fabulous sponsors for the month of July! The DT even got to play with the awesome My Kids Emo World stamps! Betty herself challenged us to "Get Grungy with Simply Betty Stamps!" The Smeared and smudged DT was to create something cute and grungy... use fun grungy elements, the colors black, grey, and any other combo you want to throw in the mix. Plus, use some metal embellishments! Here’s my card featuring the lovely Rio.

Rio-Lime-&-Purple-1

Isn’t she fabulous? And I LOVE her bat! Let me take a moment to tell you how amazing these stamps are. Not only are they made of super thick red rubber, but they are mounted on foam and SCROLLL cut around the shape! SCROLL cut! How amazing is that??? That’s quality people, so if you’re on the fence about buying some stamps, well jump over to our side and buy them! They are awesome!!!

Rio-Lime-&-Purple-2

Here’s a close up of Rio. I colored her and her sweet bat in with my colored pencils. Incidentally, I had her all colored up and then I saw Jen’s latest Wild Flower Kids challenge was to use Lime Green, Purple and Black! How funny! Esp. since she’s on Betty’s Design Team! So, I am entering this card into the latest WFK challenge too.

See the purple background? I made it using bleach and a textured cloth. I love doing that with my colored cardstock! You never know exactly what shade the paper will become… and it always looks so cool!

Rio-Lime-&-Purple-3

You can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger. For my hardware, I used staples (one of my ‘staples’ in paper crafting!), and these cool discs I use for my jewelry making. I thought they looked pretty cool together.

So, now I would love it if you took a look at not only the rest of the Smeared and Smudged Design Team, but also Betty’s blog and one of her fab DT member’s blog, Debbie. I hope you get super inspired!

Now, how would you like to win some of these faboo stamps??? Well, you just need to play along with Smeared & Smudged! If you participate in July’s Oh! The Horror challenge or the Rock-N-Rolla challenge, you will have a chance to win 3 of the My Kids Emo World stamps! How cool is that? Now get hopping and get creating! We want to see your projects at Smeared & Smudged!

I’d like to give a huge thanks to Betty, for being one of our sponsors for this month! You are so fantastic!!!!

Have an inspiring day!!!

Fabulous! I do love the color scheme, the coloring, and the metal accents.

The other upside to using bleach is that your card and your crafting area smell so nice and clean!!! ;D

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off to m

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga
