Holy Ground Smeared Ink Challenge

Did you know that Smeared Ink has weekly challenges on their site? And that YOU get to pick the winner? It’s true! Every month, Smeared Ink has a different challenge in which you use their stamps. Each week a winner is chosen (again, by you!) and at the end of the month there is a final showdown! The winner of the showdown gets a 25% off coupon to use on Smeared Ink images!

I had to play along this week. It’s called Holy Ground, and it’s recommended that you use the Holy City stamp set, which I love! Here’s my card.

Holy-Ground-1

A little creepy, no? Just how I like it!

Holy-Ground-2

I used colored pencils to color in the image. Isn’t it a beautiful shot? It’s fro a cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina. I tore up the edge with my edge distresser from Heidi Swapp.

Holy-Ground-3

And of course, I needed to ink it up a bit! So I used some brown and green, to go with the way I colored the image. I thought the sentiment “happily ever after” was sweet and freakin’ creepy at the same time. A couple of globs of Distress Stickles and I called it done.

So, now I need you to vote! On July 8th and 9th, you will be able to vote for my card (if you think it deserves a vote!) on the Smeared Ink site. Go to the “News” page, and then click on the “Vote” tab. And hey…if you have some Smeared Ink stamps of your own, why not enter as well??? Have an inspiring day!

This is amazing! Your coloring is off the chain! It's actually a serene scene, but your sentiment makes it totally creepy. I love it!

Love is Love with Nathalie Kalbach and Friends

The Stampendous team is showcasing the fabulous stamps and stencils from Nathalie Kalbach this week, and some of Nathalie's friends have been joining us. There are 3 prize packaages up for grabs, and anyone can win! Visit the Stampendous Blog for full details. I have been thinking a lot about the recent tragedy to the LGBT community in Orlando, and I decided to use Nathalie's Urban Scribble set for today's project. I started off with the foam stamp (the blank side) and colored a rainbow on it using my Tombow Dual Brush markers. I sprayed the foam stamp with a little water to re-wet the colors, and get some nice splotches. I applied the stamp, then I went back with the detail stamp and inked it up with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, using the stencil that comes in the Urban Scribble set, plus the Picasso tool, I stenciled some pixelated clouds in the background. I hand wrote "Love is Love." I decided to not make this a card..but rather some
