Just Call Me Ms. July!!!

What a wonderful bit of news I get to share with you today!!! I have been chosen to be July’s Featured Designer for Bombshell Stamps! I am so excited about this!!! I have wanted to be a part of the Bombshell team for a while, and now I get that opportunity!!!

These stamps are SO cool! I am all about retro stuff. Well, ok, I’m all about a lot of things… but retro/vintage is totally one of them!!!

The ladies that I will be working with are super-duper talented (some of them are even from Smeared and Smudged! Huge “”Hello!” to Kelli and Terra!!!). So, if you want to be inspired, then you will need to check out the creations of the Bombshell girls. Want to get started??? You are in luck! There just so happens to be a Bombshell Blog Hop going on today! Just click HERE to get started!!!

Speaking of getting started, I can’t wait to get going’ with making some fab new things with my Bombshell stamps! I will be running out to my mailbox daily, hoping that they have arrived!

So go on and check out the hop! And make sure you check back with me to see what I create for my new Ms. July position!!!

Hi!! Welcome to Bombshell. I popped in to check out your blog and I'm lovin' your work and your kids' antics! I have a 7 year old son and a 2 and a half year old daughter, so I've been through Phoenix's stage and I have it to come again very soon too. In fact, she's already there. I give answers too. But if there are too many, especially from the boy I start answering Why with "To make you ask more questions!" He laughs... but he doesn't go play in traffic!! :) :)

See you in the forum!! --Sy.

February Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge

The new Smeared & Smudged challenges are up and ready for you to participate in! I got instantly inspired by Kelli’s card sketch for the month, as I have been working with different ideas for my next “Tarot Card.” Haha! That’s actually pretty funny! If you’ve been checking in over the past couple of weeks, you may have seen my Misty Benson Tarot Set 1 ( Smeared Ink ) cards. I’ve used The World and The Fool so far. Today, I bring you Death. Don’t worry…it’s actually a joyful image…one that I intend to use a lot! First, here’s the sketch. I flipped it and changed the ribbon and embellishment a bit. Can I just start off by saying that it is quite nerve wracking to slice your image??? I have done it a few times in the past, but I always get butterflies when I attempt it again. I colored the image and the card itself using nothing but Distress Inks and my Cut-n-Dry Nibs. My skull button at the top has been colored with Alcohol Inks.   The colors look a little off ...

"Dream-Pendous" Collaboration!

Greetings! This is going to be such an exciting week for Dreamweaver Stencil s fans and Stampendous Stamps fans alike. It's going to be a "Dream-Pendous" week of inspiration! The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team's arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new "Blossom Beauty" face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar. I am beyond excited to share my project with you. I made an art journal page, with a....rather altered...version of the fantastic Blossom Beauty image. Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and be...
