Make a Path

Hello! Today, I have a new shaker card to share with you. I was really inspired by one of the newest stamp sets from Beth Duff Designs , and I hadn't had a chance to play with it until now. The set is called Faith Can Move Mountains. Unfortunately, the company is going out of business so if have been interested in any of their stamp sets, this is the only opportunity you'll have to shop. I knew when I started this card that I was going to make a shaker, and I let the card happen organically. This helped me to decide which Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground I was going to use. I chose But First, Coffee . Gingerbread Man would have worked too, but I opted to steer away from the glitter sequins found in Gingerbread Man, simply because of the overall look of this card. I started off with Kraft cardstock and I embossed the mountain scene with Champagne PearLustre embossing powder from Stampendous. I used a Posca Pen to add some snow to the mountains, and I inked the e...

2 Cards, 1 Layout

Hello! Today I have 2 cards that use the same stamps and layout, but the papers and Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground that I use are different. The Sparkle Blends I used are Frozen (with with a few glitter sequins from Candy Cane ) and Boughs of Holly . Let's take a look at the first card. I did something a little different with my cards this time. Instead of coloring my images first and picking out coordinating paper and embellishments next, I started off with my paper first. I knew I wanted to use certain patterns from 2 Echo Park collections, and I used them as my jumping off point for my coloring. The papers on this card are from the I Love Winter collection. I am so in love with the Thanks a Latte stamps and dies   from Lawn Fawn, and I knew they would be perfect for these cards. I stamped the images with VersaFine ink and colored them with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers on Bristol Smooth paper. My shaker windows were made with 2 circle dies from Eliz...

Snowflake Shaker Card

Greetings! Today I have a shaker card that features the beautiful Frozen Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. Frozen is a beautiful wintry mix of blues and whites, with some very pretty snowflakes, glitter sequins, and gems. For the top layer of my card, I used some Distress Oxide Inks to get an icy cool look. I used Peacock Feathers , Salty Ocean , and Faded Jeans . I applied the inks to my craft mat, spritzed the inks with water, and then dragged my cardstock through it. I sped up the drying time with my heat tool, and reinked the cardstock. After I was satisfied with my results, I decided where I wanted my snowflake shakers (stamps and dies from Stampendous ) to be. Then, I die cut the 2 snowflakes in my Distress Oxide layer. Next, I took a piece of pale blue cardstock and placed it under the die cut layer (just sitting...not attached to anything). I placed these 2 pieces of cardstock into my Stamp Platform and held them down with magnets. Then, I fit the snowflake s...

WRC December Kit: Embellishment Ideas

Hello! I have been playing with the December Kit from White Rose Crafts a lot this month, and I am really enjoying myself! I decided that today I would focus on a couple of the embellishments that come in the kit. I also chose to share 2 cards that feature the same plum-colored color palette. Both of my cards feature a Topper from ScrapBerry's Elegantly Festive collection. I chose to also use ScrapBerry's coordinating 6" x 6" papers. The deep plum cardstock on both cards are from my personal stash. On this first card, you'll see a lovely lace bow. You actually get several of these in the December Kit! I love the little pearl in the center of the bow. This doesn't add so much dimension that you need to worry about mailing the card. I would probably add a thin piece of cardboard on top, just to protect the pearl, but I think it will mail fine. I love the soft plum reindeer paper that I used on this card. I find reindeer to be quite elegant, and that w...

We will be giving away prizes and offering a Blog Candy Discount Code, so be sure to visit every stop on the hop for more chances to win! All of the prize details are at the bottom of my post. Now, let's take a look at my project. My card uses lots of products from the White Rose Crafts December Subscription Kit. The only items I used that are not from the kit, is my blue and white cardstock, and Memento Ink i...

Get Kids Crafty November Hop: Christmas Unicorn

Hello and welcome to the November Get Kids Crafty Blog Hop! This month, our theme is Christmas. When I mentioned the theme to my daughter, she knew what she wanted to make right away. Rhiannon loves everything unicorn. She's like her Mom! We found this unicorn stamp with coordinating die at Michaels from their Recollections brand. She thought this would be the perfect focal for a magical Christmas card. She colored her unicorn with Memento markers from Imagine and a gold metallic marker from Spectrum Noir. She die cut the unicorn, then a couple of Fitted Frames from Stampendous to use as mats. To add more sparkle and magic, Rhiannon added some sequins from Doodles Paper Playground. She used the Bells are Ringing and Boughs of Holly Sparkle Blends. And since you can never have too much sparkle, she also added some Stickles to the mane, and around the unicorn. Miss R has been working on her handwriting, so she chose to write her sentiment out instead of stamping or die cu...
