21st Century Pillow Book

Hello! The Imagine theme this month is "Books" so I decided to do something I love to make....bookmarks! They're fun, simple to make, totally customizable, and useful. Supplies : Imagine : Memento Markers Memento Ink Pad in Tuxedo Black Other : Sweet Stamp Shop : Book Club Xyron: Creative Station with Laminating Cartridge Stampendous : Mixed Media Paper Acrylic Stamping Block Twine/Ribbon Hole Punch Directions : 1. Begin by cutting Mixed Media Paper to your desired size bookmark. Stamp the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. 2. Color the stamped images with Memento Markers. I love how blendable these markers are, yet they dry pretty quickly. They're perfect for quick coloring projects of all kinds. The stamps I used are all about books, and there's a stamp in the set that allows you to write out the info about a specific book. Hello! It's my second post today. That hasn't happened in a while, so please be sure to scroll down to my following post to see what I did with 2 pieces of PVC. But first, let me show you 2 projects I made for A Day for Daisies . The theme for the next 2 weeks is to "Add Pearls or Beads." One of my projects should have been up last week, but my little girl was sick, so I didn't have time to finish it for last Friday. So, that one doesn't have pearls or beads. I colored this lovely mermaid (named Vintage Pink Lingerie) with my Tombow markers. And I created her background with a few different sprays and my Small Scales stencil from Stampendous. I also added a sentiment from Stampendous, and lots of fabulous Burgundy glitter at the bottom of the tag. The ribbon is from May Arts. Greetings! I have a Bombshell Stamps project to share today. Ms. March, our Pin-Up for the month, shared her challenge for the month yesterday. She wants us to play Bombshell Bingo ! Visit the Bombshell Blog to see the Bingo card. Here's my project. I made a bookmark for my daughter. I used 3 images from the Butterfly Queen set. I colored them with Pentel markers and added some yellow Stickles to their bodies. Needless to say, my daughter was thrilled to receive the bookmark. She's 5, and is really trying to read. Hello! It's Friday so I have a new Dilly Beans challenge to share with you. Plus, it's the 20th (where did this month go???), so I have a new Chromatic Craze challenge as well. The Dilly Beans theme this week is ribbons. Here's what I made. I made this bookmark for my little girl. She is trying really hard to learn to read. She's 4 1/2. And I knew she would love that crinkly pink and purple ribbon. She was so excited when I gave it to her, and she has been going through lots of books, and using her bookmark for all of them. I colored this sweet turtle with water colors. The turtle has a similar look to the watercolor-y look for the ribbon. Now on to Chromatic Craze. Happy Friday! I am so happy it's Friday.....it's a 3 day weekend! I LOVE having both of my kids at home. I am really looking forward to some serious playtime with them! But first...a little business. Can you believe it??? It’s almost time! Time for the release of Eclipse!!! I can hardly wait!!! As I have mentioned before, I am seeing a triple feature starting at 6:30 on Tuesday night! It’s gonna be great!!! Today Erica issued us the latest Pop Culture Challenge for Friends Having Fun . And it’s all about Eclipse!!! Make something Twi-Inspired! Easy-peasy! Plus, I of course had to partake in the 4th and final challenge for Artful INKables too! Their challenge was to create anything but a card. Cool! So…I made a bookmark. I am really into making these lately! And check this out…I didn’t use ANY paper!!! It’s tough to see all the detail in this pic…feel free to click on it to see it bigger! I used 2 Artful INKables stamps for this bookmark. And a whole lotta ink! Here’s a close up.
